The food is very good and the service was excellent. There was a 30 minute wait but I don’t think it took that long. We both... had the seafood sampler. The shrimp was deliciously seasoned but only 3. There were plenty of crawfish. The fries were verybasic. I was expecting them to taste a lot better. I also ordered the banana pudding and it was delicious!! Now I definitelywould go back for that. It cost $8.95. The food overall is a bit pricey for me. Where to start. My mother called this restaurant a few days ago asking if she could make a reservation for 5 today, Saturday at... 5pm. Was told by whoever she spoke to on the phone they do not accept reservations. Funny, I go online to pappadeaux generalsite and they offer reservations until you search the Birmingham location ???? Anyway, we arrive around 4:30pm on a Saturdaywith not a single place to park. Had to drive around several times and catch someone leaving. Red flag #1. Walk in and ask howlong the wait is and are told 1hr to 1 1/2 hours. Do you see why reservations are helpful? There was a patio full of dozens ofpeople waiting for at least an hour to be seated. We did get some bar drinks while waiting and they were good. Once we finallygot seated about an hour and a half later, it took a while for anyone to even come ask for our drink orders. We ordered apps anddinner at the same time and everything came at the same time. Crab dip was room temp. Shrimp and grits were good. We spend about3 hours at this place and for the price, service just didn’t match. This was my second time coming, prob won’t come back. Beaware if you come on the weekend, wait is RIDICULOUS and they specified to my family they don’t take reservations. Read more

2/16/2022 Just OK ????. Food wasn't bad, but it wasn't all that. Took my hunny for a bday dinner 2/9/2022. Service was ok. ... Since, I do frequent Birmingham Alabama, I might give this place another shot. But, before I go the fried soft shell crab wasso good. My mix drink was sweet & delicious ???? as well. We stopped in for a late lunch. We had the fried calamari for an appetizer. It was well seasoned and fried nicely. It was some... of the best calamari I’ve had in a long while. I had the fried seafood platter. The crab stuffed fried shrimp was delicious.The crab stuffed crab was great. The fried oysters and shrimp were also very good. The fried catfish was just ok. The fried softshell crab was great. All in all I enjoyed it very much. We also ordered a side of red beans and rice and it was very tasty. Mywife had the crawfish etouffe’ and fried crawfish with dirty rice. It was super flavorful. Very nicely done. We originallycame in for some king crab legs but they wanted $99.95. No thanks.
