Pretty good restaurant. Good place for introductory Mediterranean food with plenty of American options. The salads are good and... the hot wings have a decent kick and good flavor profile but nothing to be worried about if you can handle the spicy sauces atWingstop or Buffalo Wild Wings. Hummus is a 3/5. Read more

The portions were very large. The food was well prepared. From the rave reviews we'd had we had expected a traditional... restaurant, not a fast food set up for so large a place...it was clean and neat. The food was brought out to us and wellpresented. All together it was an enjoyable experience. Read more

Good burgers, nice pieces of chicken but the wait time is so long.and the customer service is just 'ok' I ordered a meal and... asked for a ice water but the lady at the register refused. Ice water is FREE. They're also pricey. Read more

Wanted to be able to have a positive experience after not going here in many years. Walked in at 7:30 on Thursday night and... maybe 2-3 other people dining. Not crowded. Gave order and waited and waited and waited. Finally after 30 min, I just left.Nobody ever told me why it would take so long. Sorry purple onion. Not a good look Read more

It was the worst experience I've ever had at a Purple Onion. I've been to the Pelham location(still the best location in my... opinion), the one in Hoover on Hwy 31 and the one on Green Springs but have never had food that bad. I ordered the gyro comboand the gryo meat was so burnt that it was extremely hard for me to eat. The fries where the best part of the meal. The tableswere sticky. I also could believe that they played nothing but Frank Sinatra for a solid 45 minutes. I was so happy that I hadmy headphones to help drowned out "Old Blue Eyes". It must of been a commentary track too. Read more

Very good experience. Clean atmosphere, very friendly staff. The kefta was very delicious, tender and juicy. The falafel was... a bit hard and bland. The hummus and baba were about average, honestly. The shawarma sandwich was ok as well. The tabouleh wasvery dry and didn't have olive oil or lemon juice which I found a bit odd. I feel as if this place is perfect for a quick bite. It's easy to judge Mediterranean harshly as there are so many varieties prepared differently by people of each country. Ifyou're around, it's definitely worth a try! Read more
