The next time I visit Birmingham, I will definitely be back to this place. The atmosphere was amazing, the food was great but... Malia (I hope I spelled her name correctly), the bartender was phenomenal. Do yourself a favor if you're downtown and pay them avisit, you won't regret it! Great Southern food restaurant, good ambience/atmosphere, food was great starting with the Fried Green Tomatoes, followed by... the Rustic Salmon, and for dessert a delicious Molten Chocolate Cake. We hosted a rehearsal dinner at Southern Kitchen and Bar last week, and it went fabulously well. Matthew was so helpful in the... weeks leading up to the dinner, accommodating special (vegan) requests and arranging everything just like we wanted. Thebartender, chef, and everyone did outstanding work, and the food was excellent. The space worked really well on a windy but nicespring night--private and spacious with great views and lighting.
