We were on a drive to Minneapolis and stopped at this restaurant in Wisconsin to get some breakfast. The ambience is 80s diner... with a touch of mold smell. The food was below average but the bakery products looked good but since we did not try these Icannot comment on how good they are. Our waitress was friendly and efficient however, the lady at the register couldn't be moreunfriendly, atleast to me. She was fairly cold when we walked in and greeted everyone who walked up to pay for their meal. Whenit was my turn, there were no greetings, no asking how my meal was and not even a thank you for coming in. Not a pleasantexperience. It is for this reason that this restaurant has a 2 star by me. Out of menu items we ordered we were told they were out of. Waitress forgot my pancakes even after I had shared how it is... something I always have since it was my pregnancy craving and brings back great memories. We were there on Sunday and service was great. In and out in around an hour. We go there this early afternoon and we wait 20... minutes to get a drink order taken and then 5 minutes more for our drinks and a food order. From the time we sat down till wewalked out without receiving our food was about an hour and a half. The waitress goes to the counter and says the people at thetable we were sitting at just left without paying for the food (which we never received). The hostess I believe she was saidsorry and the drinks are on the establishment. The hostess was dressed like she had slept in her clothes and just jumped out ofbed to go to work. Short wait to be seated, there was not a preson up front. The staff was friendly we did feel a little rushed to order after we... were seated. The food was delicious ???? we ordered Country Fried Steak (very hot could use a little more gravy) and theCalifornia Benedict (could have been hotter it was a little cold) with breakfast potatoes (very hot and crips). So it?s my first time at a Perkins and it was ok, just not wow. I did enjoy the Strawberry Cream cheese Crispers, the fried wrap... had a great texture and the filling was very nice. The sirloin was cooked perfectly per my medium rare request and it wassurprisingly tender. I liked the garlic butter on top but other than that it lacked seasoning. Just a little salt and pepperwould?ve gone a long way in making it amazing. The potato decent but may have been over cooked. Just seemed dry. And for abaking restaurant I was really looking forward to the muffin but it was the worst disappointment of the meal. Super dry, anddidn?t have much flavor. After a couple of bites I just threw it away. I would classify this place as just average chain food.Over priced as well, my potato was bigger than my steak, it just swallowed it up on the plate. It was 6 good bites at best. Allsteak choices were sirloin. Seems like a ribeye on the menu would?ve been a good choice. Also seems more like a breakfast jointthan a dinner spot. Last but not least I had a strawberry milkshake that just didn?t hit the mark. On a bright side they wereshort staffed and was busy but the one waitress they had found her way to me quickly and the food came out fast. Service wasvery good.
