We were looking forward to dining here for the first time as we were in town for the weekend however disappointed with what was... an overpriced meal. The $45 filet was bland, the pork chop was thin and over cooked - pretty sure they forgot about us as ittook 30 min to get our dinner after appetizers. Our food had different sides than what was stated on the menu. Server was kind,but not sure we’ll go back as the price tag wasn’t worth it. Read more
If i could give this place more stars i would the food was spectacular!!! OMG....this place is amazing I got to meet Chef Terry... and he explained each dish to us all and we really enjoyed his risotto...it's to die for!! Our server was Zoe she was the bestbeen before and our server was Lauren she is jus the best also!!! Thank you Chef Terry and the Black Hen for having us!!!! Wewill be back!!! P.S. Stopped in after some shopping for dinner. New to area and I read the reviews so my hubby and I were looking forward to a good... meal. What a disappointment Ahi Tuna was tasteless, pork chop was fair at best I opted for ceasar salad and shrimp appetizers(knock-off Bang Bang shrimp from Bonefish). It took forever for our drinks to come and they did apologize but after we had beenseated for over 30 minutes. Maybe a new cook or manager but please don't waste your $$$ Read more
If I could give negative stars I would. I made a reservation several days before. We got there exactly on time. We were seated... right away. A couple came in 10min after us. They not only got waited on first but had drinks before we even saw a waiter. I hadto ask the host if someone had our table. Our drink order took 20 more min. The margarita was the worst I’ve ever tasted. Weplaced our order and the waiter comes back telling us they’re out of items. Chicken is one of them. Who runs out of chicken?Ok. So we place another order. Only to have her come back and tell us they’re out of scallops. Ok. We order anyways. We askfor the manager who comes over and doesn’t even apologize. Instead is a bit aggressive and ask if the food was good. It wasnot. I was so embarrassed to have my out of town friends experience this. I will never go again. I honestly wanted to give this a higher rating, but a few things killed it for me. First off the actual entrees and the... appetizer were good. However, the sides were very weak and my wife's side was initially wrong and felt like the correct sideswere just thrown together very quickly as it was oily and bland. The other major hit was price. I just can't comprehend thepricing on the entrees. The appetizers, drinks and desserts I believe are all fairly priced. However $40 for an entree!?!?!? Itbetter be perfect and these were far from it. We had the pork chops, lamb chops and salmon and felt each fell way below what wewere expecting at that price point. If you come, I would only come for appetizers or drinks. Read more
The Steak and Branzino were perfectly seasoned and cooked. Everything else was a mess. The bread was cold. The vegetables and... mashed potatoes were too salty and cold. And the desert was simply confusing; chocolate bombe was frozen solid on the bottom soyou couldn't cut through with a spoon and the creme brulee was just too thick and super sweat. Read more
Went for a friends birthday and everyone made our experience so special! The Chef (Jerome I think is his name) came out and... talked to us bc there was a miss communication with the menu on Facebook and the actual menu but still made us risotto even thoit wasn’t on the menu. Our waitress even gave the birthday girl a small gift to take home for later. Drinks, food, andatmosphere was just amazing but it always is! Read more
