The Republic is amazing, based off my minimal experience, and is definitely worth trying out if you're passing by or want to... have a special dinner. Food: - I got the Philly Cheese Steak and it was by far the best Philly grinder I've ever had in mylife. The sauce/cheese they put in it was absolutely amazing; fresh, thick, gooey, yummy. The dish was served steaming hot, andwas actually so hot I couldn't eat it. I've never been served food so hot I could not eat it; that's amazing! - The standardfries they serve are amazing! - They seem to heat the plate, and even the holder that holds the fries so they stay warm longer;you hardly see this in restaurants! Service: - Patrick served us and was amazing, top-notch waiter and honestly gave some ofthe best, if not the best, dining experience I've had at a restaurant. It felt as though every time we needed something, hemagically appeared there for us. - Immediate attention was taken any time it seemed as though we needed water, seemed curious ofthe menu, or wanted the check, etc. Other: - I normally don't do this, but the bathrooms were immaculate. Clean, fresh,pristine. I had to take a picture to prove it, I was so shocked - they say the kitchen is as clean as the bathrooms, and if thisis the degree of cleanliness they kept, the kitchen must also be spectacular. - The theme/mood of this restaurant is moreupscale and homey, an excellent place for a romantic dinner or valentine's day. There was a lot right about this place. The service was good. The interior design was outstanding. The food was very good. I had... the chicken curry lettuce, something or others. The deviled eggs ????, and a 12" pepperoni pizza. The chicken lettuce thingswere great, or chicken lettuce things (like tacos, with lettuce, ha). The deviled eggs were a no effort dish, looked good,tasted ok, but zero originality, just a throw in like chips.The pizza was good, I wish that's all I ordered. Ordered only waterto drink, tab? $40. I've had the beyond burger twice here. It's so good! Great burger, great fries, and love the slaw and pickles. I should probably... get around to trying other menu items but for now, I'm stuck on the delicious burger. :-) Read more
Just moved to Connecticut a couple of months ago, several people told us we needed to come here. Wow, they were right. We came... for my Dad's birthday dinner. Restaurant itself is cool, has a rustic vibe, we sat inside but also has a very nice large patio.Service was great, staff is very friendly. Food was excellent, no one had any complaints about their food, we will definitely becoming back again and again, can't wait to take other friends and family here. Read more
if this doesn’t steer you away from this place then i don’t know what will. absolutely horrified and disgusted. i had to... wait half an hour to put my compliant in and decided i had to go out of my way to say something.the price of the pretzel was $18and was MOLDY. salmon was undercooked and raw. the salmon was with a salad that would’ve been in total $20… so ridiculous.nothing special about the salad or salmon. i never been served MOLDY FOOD OR RAW SALMON. DISGUSTING! i felt so disrespected anddon’t EVER plan on coming back here again. also the manager billed us for drinks… she also came to wrong table afterhearing a compliant lol. she also made the poor server tell us they couldn’t cover $2…????.. gordon ramsay needs to come tothis place…DONT GO THERE DONT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY!!!!!!! A wonderful warm comfortable building with many different nooks to have a great meal. We always have family gatherings here as... we come together on holidays. My 98 year Mother says She gets The Best Hamburger anywhere and looks forward to every visit. The portions are huge and beverages are delicious. Read more
