Pleasantly surprised by Kobe! Being gluten free I avoid Asian cuisine because of the soy sauce but they had gluten free options... for chicken fried rice and Chicken Hibachi! I got the chicken fried rice and it was really good! The staff were great! I?d loveto come back next time I visit Bloomington! Read more

First time eating here with my boyfriend. We got two sushi rolls and some miso soup. The cost was a bit high, $37 for... everything. The sushi was pretty good though! Miso soup was lacking but a nice addition to the dinner. I probably wouldn't goback there based on amount of food/price but it was a nice little treat. Photo of our dinner attached. Read more

My friends and I went to Kobe last night. The food was great and our waiter was awesome. My reason for this bad review is due to... our cook knowing a gentleman at our table and playing favorites to him all night. He got 3 times the amount of steak and ricethan the rest of the table that ordered steak. When the gentleman's girl friend commented on the huge portions the cook said,"Because I like him, and have known him for a long time." Sorry but that's B.S. everyone at our table paid for their portion andthat gentleman got a piece of everyone else's meal, honestly everyone else at the table should have received a discount at thatpoint. Kobe needs to address their cooks and remind them that everyone at the table is a paying customer and not to playfavorites with other customers money. I will still recommend this restaurant as the food was still good and our waiter was greatbut hope they choose to address this issue with their cooks. Read more

I have been here twice already. I go to Bloomington for work around once a week. On one of those days decided to go to Japanese... place craving for sushi. Ended with bento box and appetizers I could not even eat at one time. I used to live in San Franciscowith all of it's amazing restaurants and very developed Asian culture. Was kind of sceptic what kind of Japanese food is goingto be cooked for me in the middle of Illinois. I was surprised in a good way. Crab wontons we're crispy and creamy, miraclesalad dressing (mayonnaise, carrot, ginger and ... something else) turned regular salad leaves into delicious dish. Beef wasmedium fried and juicy. Rice wrap on my sushi was very thin and I could clearly feel avocado taste. Liked this place. It is notfancy, pretty affordable, good restaurant to go with your friends for grilled seafood. Will be coming back. Read more

I had so much fun eating here. We got the head chef and he was absolutely amazing! Also, if it is your birthday, the whole crew... sings you and people at the restaurant will clap. The soup they give you could have more flavor, but the rest of food is reallygood! I ordered this time hibachi, but ramen soup and sushi are also delicious! Overall, a great experience. Thank you Read more

Went for the first time on Friday, been to others but not here, my friend and I went and wasn't disappointed. The broth could of... had just a touch more seasoning, but it was good. The cheese rangoo was good and the calamari had good flavor but it was just alittle more on the chewy side. The Dragon Roll was also very good. We both got The Triple, what we got was very tasty also, allthe meat was very tender. Everything in all was very good, yes staff was very friendly, food delicious, yes I'd go back and sowould my friend. Read more
