We had a very bad experience with Timber Lake?s at Chetola. We had reservations for 8 at 7:00pm Timber Lake?s was not able to... seat our party together because so many tables were not cleaned from previous parties. Outside seating was also closed. Theservice was terrible, it appears all the employees are working at the outside events. This taught us to avoid Chetola / TimberLake?s on Friday and Saturday nights when outside events are taking place! The outside events seem to take priority over walk-incustomers with reservations. Our dinner main course was brought to the table about an hour after our salads were finished. Wehad to ask for the empty salad plates to be removed while waiting. After waiting 40 minutes for our dinner I asked the serverabout our dinner. She commented some of the food was up and setting under the heat lamps. She was waiting for other plates. Thiswas about 20 minutes prior to being served. Our 7pm reservation had the dinner plates served at 8:45 pm. I had my dinner boxedas it was getting way too late for our party to enjoy dinner. It took 2 hours for dinner and unacceptable service in a almostempty restaurant! To top it off our dinner bill for 4 Adults and 1 child had a forced 20% gratuity included even when theyseated our party at different tables and provided substandard service! Very weak performance as far as operations. The food was on a limited menu basis due to staff shortages. Yet still, the... overall business ran poorly and the food was two star at best. No drinks were offered so we settled for water. The table wassticky and wobbled. I re- arranged the already existing shims, so it was an existing issue. We had a 6 :00 reservation granted we were just a few minutes late with 2 kids one 3 and the other 5 months quite a walk to the... front door. They had great live music which was outstanding because the hostess told us we would have to wait. It was about afifteen minute wait even with reservations. Now the food was amazing , and that was why we were there anyway, service wasvery slow, I guess in the mountains people like have a slower pace but with children every second counts. I was very delightedthere were several families eating that night with small children. I did overhear apologies to other tables about the wait andforgetting some of their orders. Read more

The people and food are always fantastic here! We went for Mother's day and they had a special brunch menu that was outstanding.... I had the shrimp and grits and everything was wonderful. Interesting place. My dinner was good. My wife 's dinner was not so good. She ordered Schnitzel. The server did not understand... wine, and I had to return mine because it did not go well with my order. It took much too long to get the replacement. We've been coming to Chetola for years at Christmas to see the Christmas lights. Decided to surprise my 97 yr old Aunt with a... nice dinner too this year. I was a little hesitant after reading some of the reviews, but we had the most lovely experience! Theatmosphere is so cozy and beautiful (loved the live entertainment), we were sat directly when we arrived, our server wasattentive and friendly, and the food was delicious. The brussel sprouts appetizer was a huge portion and so tasty! The cornbreadand apple butter was heavenly. We all enjoyed our meal, portions, and the ambiance. 4 stars as it is a little pricey and theaccessibility could be improved. Walk from handicap spot to restaurant is a bit of a trek and includes a stretch of uneven patiotoo. Bathroom is on far-side of restaurant. A memory we won't forget! Read more
