Been eating Beggars for at least 30 years. They were always a fav but now the sauce is bland & the crust is weird like it's not... even done. It's been not good last few times but I thought maybe it was just an off night or maybe the location. Looking at theother reviews it appears I'm not the only who has noticed a change. I decided to order my pizza this past Saturday 9:24/22 from the original location because all the other franchised locations... have been burning my pizza I was very dissatisfied as with other locations the original location burnt my family size sausageand cheese as well I hope this is not the new way of cooking the pizza is so please let a customer know this so the customerwill not waste their money on a burnt pizza. The pizza the last few times has been lack luster. They still pile it on thick however the sauce is bland and the crust is like... cardboard. Gonna have to stop going to this location. Back to Lansing or Stony Island where the sauce and the slice is stillconsistent. Updated review: I really appreciate the business response. I have been a loyal customer to this location since theearly 2000s. I will definitely speak to any issues directly as I want to continue to support this location. Please note thatthe sauce has less flavor so maybe offering an extra seasoning option because I tried extra sauce and it wasn't better and Ialso asked for extra thin crust on the last order but it came out with regular crust. I like beggars and the fact that they have different meat varieties on their pizza menu. In fact the only reason that I order... from this location is because they have turkey sausage and my kids like it. This past Saturday I placed an order for pick up fora family size turkey sausage extra thin crust with green pepper pizza. I got the pizza home only for my kids to discover thatthe pizza has mushrooms throughout it and now their so grossed out by it that they won?t eat it because they think I am tryingto trick them into eating something else. Of course by the time I get the pizza home and contact the restaurant they are closed.So I called the next morning of Mother?s Day and get a young girl who asks me to text a phone number with photos and I did. Theygave it 30 Seconds and said they never received my text and that if I want the pizza remade that I need to bring the entirepizza uneaten back by Tuesday and they will remake it. I probably won?t be able to make it back to this location by Tuesday letalone remember to grab a 4 day old pizza out of my fridge and haul around with me for several hours of the day. Not to mentionbecause my kids would no longer eat it I had to go out and find another alternative so that my kids wouldn?t go to bed hungry.This place is ridiculous. Years ago the pizza was good. It was always dependable for loads of toppings. We went back and it was ok. Actually we had... slices. They have a whole bunch sitting in a warmer. I think you need to just wait and order a fresh pizza. I guess you getwhat?s expected when you buy a slice thats been sitting around for hours. I have been disappointed by this establishment 2 consecutive times for different reasons. I patronize this Beggars because,... though they can be a little pricey, I like the franchise, and this had been one of the more consistent in my area. The firsttime they served a pie, not much better than a great frozen pizza, also it was overcooked. The second time, I asked for it tobe lightly cooked. They overcooked it, and barely put any sauce on it. It was okay, but is it really a pizza without thesauce? I say NO! Read more
