After living in Boerne for years, my wife and I ate at Lung Fung for the first time the other day. I feel like we have missed... out on the best Chinese restaurant in the San Antonio area! Easily our favorite restaurant in Boerne. If we could eat here every night, we would. Our favorites include the pan fried... dumplings, the fried rice (either with chicken or as a side because WOW - best fried rice ever), and the curry chicken. Whethertaking it to go to watch some TV with or coming to the restaurant and eating it straight from the kitchen, Lung Fung neverdisappoints. My husband and I were in town visiting family, and we were looking for a hot meal after a cool, windy day out in the sun: we are... so happy we found this cozy, warm Family restaurant, and met Alan, the owner, who treated us royally and served us the bbq porkrice noodle soup, which is excellent! I believe this is authentic Chinese cuisine, with delicious broth, tender al dentesteamed vegetables, mushrooms, everything was perfect. The ambience was very casual, and family friendly. Families with youngerchildren, were quietly enjoying the silent film with subtitles: very cool for kids, I would think. We enquired about gluten freedishes, and were delighted to discover that the restaurant offers an extensive GF menu, which includes many of their dishes: myniece loved the egg drop soup, and they also enjoyed the gluten free chicken lomein dish. We must of came in at the wrong time but the lunch buffet was missing a ton of food and the taste was lacking. The buffet wasn?t... big with only a few selections and nothing really wowed me. The price turned me off BIG time and they don?t have fortunecookies!!! The food to price ratio was not worth it. I came here because of the reviews but I DO NOT recommend this place. Best Chinese food in Boerne bar none. I used to frequent the other 2 Chinese resteraunts in Boerne until I found this... Diamond. By far Fung Lung Chinese is the #1 Chinese food and possibly overall best resteraunt in the area in terms of taste andfreshness. In a time where other resteraunts are cutting portion size Fung Lung offers a very generous portion. Every dish has avery unique flavorful taste and I haven?t been disappointed yet. Wednesday is the Dinner Buffet and is a great way to try newthings. Highly recommended !!!! Read more
