If you?ve read my other reviews, you know that I try to shy away from chain restaurants. Anytime I travel I try to find local... places to eat at. Pepper?s is one of those local restaurants that I?ve frequented over the years whenever I pass throughBoone. My favorite thing about Pepper?s has always been their salad bar. They always had a nice selection of choices and was agood way to start the meal. When I walked in tonight I noticed that the salad bar was gone. I asked about this, and my waitersaid they got rid of it and that they offer various salad choices now with your meal. I ordered the meat loaf with roastedvegetables and a side garden salad for my dinner. After a few minutes my waiter came back and informed me that they didn?t havemeatloaf and asked if I wanted to order something else. I ordered blackened chicken pasta instead. I also asked for a coke asI had been traveling and was tired and needed a bit of a pick me up. I was informed their coke machine was down and theycouldn?t serve soft drinks at this time. My salad had a lot of beet root leaves in it. I am not a fan of beet root leaves andwould?ve never picked that from the old salad bar. I didn?t think the pasta was good. I wouldn?t order it again. My wifeordered the French dip sub and said the sandwich was ok. Another change to the Pepper?s menu is that they used to offer thickfluffy steak fries with their sandwiches. These fries were thin and very hard. My wife didn?t like them. I?ve had goodexperiences at Pepper?s over the years, but don?t think I?ll come back again given the changes that they have made to theirmenu. Read more

The spinach artichoke dip, onion soup, shrimp and grits and amazing cocktails are delicious. The kids enjoyed the food and so... did the grown ups. Read more

Pepper?s has been one of my favorite restaurants for the last 6 years. Unfortunately this week that changed when I ordered a... Club and there was a short black hair in the Turkey meat. I?ll also say it was my first time ordering take out and the qualityof the food was very poor compared to eating in. I had already drove home and began to eat by the time I saw it. Verydisappointed. Visiting the Blowing Rock and Boone NC areas and googled restaurants, it was a Monday and a good number of places were closed.... Read reviews and checked out the online menu and decided to give this place a try. Very glad we did! Started with a ChocolateMogul ( a wonderful drink from the bar on a cold evening) The menu has quite a variety of choices. I got a spinach salad withblackened salmon. It was outstanding?.and huge?.enough for supper and also lunch the next day, lol. My husband loved hismeatloaf and we both enjoyed the spinach artichoke dip appetizer. The waitstaff were friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant. We highly recommend Peppers, it was actually the best restaurant we ate at in the area during our visit. Read more

The food and service were excellent. When we first arrived (1:00 on a Sunday) we were told it would be a 25 minute wait but it... was closer to 5 minutes. Our waitress Avery was attentive when needed and didn't rush us at all. We had the French Dip and thePepper's Sub. Both came out warm and we're flavorful. I used to come here as a kid with my parents on our annual trip to get aChristmas tree. It is nice to see it is still the same, although the prices have increased a little bit. Read more

Great lunch spot, especially their sandwiches are amazing. The French Dip was our favorite and their french onion soup is one of... the best I have had - it comes with scissors to cut the cheese! Read more

A Boone legacy! (To call it an institution just seems like something my father would say.) Great food and drink. They're... hyper busy during the Leaf Season and even moreso now given COVID staffing constraints so make a reservation if you can. If youcan't, call ahead. The outdoor seating in the fall is fantastic. The menu is substantial. Burgers are a great choice, as aresalads and wraps. Some of the better menu choices are only available for dinner hours but everything this great and tasty atany hour. The catfish is really good. The curly fries are hard to put down Even after you're full. The bar has a greatselection of everything. The onion rings are terrific. If you're a Blue Ridge EMC customer you can get a discount. Just showthem your card. Read more

Said a table for 1 would be a 15 minute wait. Waited almost 45 minutes. Once seated, about a 3 minute wait for drink order,... but was out of the ingredients to make the drink I wanted from the menu, so I settled for a glass of wine. It took almost 5minutes to get it...which was fine. Waited another 15 minutes for waitress to take my order. (They were not overly busy. Only 3tables and 2 couples at the bar. However, 1 waitress and 1 bartender.) After I ordered, it took over 30 minutes to get my saladand another 45 minutes for my entree. I was there for just over 3 hours total. Wine was great the salad was ok (several brownspots that I had to pick out of the greens). The shrimp and grits are good and I would order it again, but I have had better. I'm giving them a pass for the wait time due to the fact they are probably understaffed in the kitchen. Read more
