They let you choose your own seating and dont make a fuss if you move. I enjoyed the bar seating. There was a smell though. If i... looked close enough, i could tell there was bug debris amoung the lights and amoung cracks and edges. Place needs to be cleanedmore often. Food was good. They made my burger medium. It tasted great. It was paired with fries and pickle. And i was servedalot of icecold water. Summer sun was beating me after a ride in the desert. The place had alot of charm. An airconditionedplace within the desert. Its a good place to stop and rest. The service was not bad at all. It was quick and prompt. I wish theycould have put the volume up as i couldnt hear the the TCM movie. Read more
Food was delicious, I was one of a group of 5 and I don't think any of us had any complaints about our food. Service was a... little slow, it took a while for the food to come out and for them to bring us the check after we asked. I also never got hottea that I ordered and had to have it removed from my check but that wasn't a big deal. They have one bathroom, single room,oddly enough decorated with bulldog statuettes, a theme missing from the rest of the restaurant. To my Big Surprise, One of the best burgers I ever had. Ordered number 4 the one with porchini mushrooms and asked for medium... rare for the meat. Gloria, our hostess was super nice and accommodated our orders quickly. When the food arrived it was perfectin presentation, and the perfect medium rare meat just melted like butter. Great place, exceeded my expectations for a small town. I would describe it as an "old fashioned restaurant." We had pasta... dishes and meatballs. The food was well made and the service was good. Prices are a bit high, but that's the area. Our dog wasallowed on the patio and they had a dog bowl, which was nice. Overall I was happy and would eat here again. Read more

Quaint little oasis with fresh and high quality food for all times of the day. Being our first time in Borrego Springs, we were... suprised by the food options in this little town. Summer is the off season, but there is still a good handful of choices to eat.We chose the Red Ocotillo after finding out what the ocotillo actually is. It's the plant that grows in abundance in this areaand it's pretty cool looking. We stopped in for breakfast. This place is charming and quiet. There seemed to be one waitressworking at the time and she was hustling all over that place. She was fantastic. There seems to be a separate menu forbreakfast, lunch and dinner here. For breakfast we ordered for the four of us pancakes, a breakfast plate with eggs, sausage andtoast, biscuits and gravy (I'm still trying to find one that lives up to my standards after growing up in Oklahoma) a breakfastburrito and huevos rancheros. The food is fresh, made homemade and comes out piping hot. This place is truly a gem. I don't carethe price, because for this quality of food and to have the pretty views of the desert; priceless. My biscuits and gravy wereflavorful and pretty close to what I had growing up, the pancakes were fluffy and delicious, burrito was well balanced andsavory and my huevos rancheros were light but flavorful with killer salsa. Honestly, everything was really good and we probablywill end up back there for dinner. The homemade potatoes were also probably the best I've ever had. I don't think you'll findultra trendy foods or techniques used here, but the food is anything but stale and flavorless. It's almost like the comfort ofeating at a diner, but minus the greasy and low quality food. I really enjoyed our breakfast and I'm sure we'll be back. Also,after having our battery die in the parking lot, the staff helped us jump our car and get back on the road. Camping at Borrego Palm Canyon in Borrego Springs and I asked a Ranger for a good place to have dinner. She said this place. It... was very good! I had the fish tacos. 2 and they were big. We had 5 of us and very attentive waitress. Water and teas never wereempty. It is a bit pricey, but the food and service were terrific and very close to camp. I'd go again! ???? Read more
