Ordered chicken quasedia (5 out of 5), fish tacos ???? (3 out of 5) and shrimp ???? tacos ???? (4 out of 5). The restaurant is... in the middle of nowhere. Mostly takeout ???? Thay have a couple of bar style benches facing the street. Prices are on the highside. They charge extra for everything (extra salsa with your tortillas chips). Read more

Food: Torta (Toasted Mexican telera bread, shrimp, refried beans, melted jack cheese, guac, pico, lettuce, jalapeño,... mayo) Ambiance: Very cute, casual, small venue. Parking: Street parking is available. Pricing: Fair. Food (flavors): This tortawas PACKED with flavor. The pico and lettuce gave the torta a fresh flavor. The cheese, guac, mayo, and refried breans gave thetorta the fatty flavors that we know and love. The shrimp was cooked well, but I don't recall tasting any distinct seasonings onit. I didn't really taste the jalapeños which was good for me because I don't like them too much. The bread was so soft andlightly toasted; I enjoyed it. Portion size: Large For more reviews, my food page is @fave_foodie on instagram. Read more

We have eaten food from here four times in the last 2weeks. Each time the food was inhaled before I could get pics ???? sorry!... We have tried their chips and guacamole, grilled chicken quesadilla, regular taco plate, birria taco plate, rice w/black beans, tostada, elotes, maduros and flan. Everything has been delicious. The menu was a little confusing at first. Because it?s mostlyabout how to build a burrito (which we haven?t tried yet. I have been disappointed with my last few times eating at chipotle. Ijust doesn?t taste like it used to. So I?m very glad we gave CHILACATES a try. 10 out of ten?would recommend thislocation. Note: We walked in and out of their Centre St. location due to a foul smell kinda like a bad cleaning product. Read more

My go to place for Mexican food. Everywhere else I am taken for "the best Mexican food in town" can not compete with Chilacates.... Having had close to everything on the menu I strongly recommend checking it out and grabbing a classic soda in a glass bottlefor your meal. Their prices reflect the quality of the food and even when they are super busy you can order and walk out in 10minutes with your meal. A must try Read more

There's a saying that: "A good taco doesn't need cheese. A good taco only needs a little bit of lime and cilantro." This... statement is true when it comes to this place - which is a huge compliment since Boston is famous for its lack of authentic, good taco restaurants. (Came with a mexican friend who had been searching for good tacos in Boston for a long time.) Got 4tacos with 4 different fillings: Al pastor (pork with pineapple), Papa's con chorizo (potatoes and meat), lengua (beef tongue),and pork en Chile Verde (carnitas in salsa). Homemade taco shells - fresh, warm, thick and soft without that grainy texture. Allthe meat were super tender and juicy. The Papa's con chorizo didn't blow me away - could taste more potatoes than chorizo (ifany). But I would definitely come back to get the Al pastor and pork en Chile Verde. Also got the horchata which was delicious! It reminded of sweetened almond milk with cinnamon. If you don't like cinnamon, don't get this drink. My friend got thequesadilla with the Papa's con chorizo. Wasn't blown away with it but we think it's because of the filling. The potatoes weretoo plain - not enough flavors. Good amount of melted cheese and the guac is perfect. Very filling meal, delicious, and it canget Super messy since the filling will topple out of the taco shell with every bite - but no complaints there. ???? The space issmall. Only counter space to eat with maybe 7 chairs. Service is great and fast! Read more
