Davio’s is always a nice choice for a romantic dinner with your significant other. This location is a little more loud, so if... you’re looking for a quiet, romantic dinner, this Davio’s might not be your best choice. We were going to an August outdoor concert, had been drenched in the thunderstorm, and they still were gracious and treated us... as any other patrons. Another restaurant had turned us away as my spouse was wearing a tank top. Davio's didn't blink. I sharedpictures of their fabulous popovers, so light and airy, that they provide to the table instead of bread. I can't speak to theirwine selection, as neither of us drink wine, and again I didn't feel any judgement. Their potato gnocchi with mushrooms wasliterally the best gnocchi I've ever had. It makes me want to keep trying to make gnocchi (and popovers), even though I knowthe bar they set that night is not one I can reach. I went here to celebrate a birthday with two friends. We went traditional European style meal, white wine and appetizers, red... wine and dinner, and desserts. Everything we ate was fantastic. The staff was friendly and did not rush us. It is veryexpensive but was worth it in the end. More of a special occasion place than a casual dining option. The local is great, thewindows look right over the port and is a nice area to walk around before or after you have finished your meal. We had porksausage and truffle butter for appetizers, I had lemon risotto with scallops for dinner and we shared Pannacitta, passion fruitsorbet, and baked Alaska for dessert. We shared a Chianti San Felice and a red wine. All in all a great experience, go forambiance and local. I've eaten at other Davios locations and they are good, but the seaport view really makes the experience.It is the kind of place you can get dressed up for. Read more

Impeccable, elegant decor, service, and food. I used to walk by Davio's on Newbury Street all the time as a poor student, hoping... that someday I might be able to experience what I could see was a top-notch gourmet experience. Davio's did not disappoint. Ourserver was a consummate professional and the desserts in particular were EXQUISITE. Butter cake is one of my favorite desserts,and I have never had a better one than at Davio's - a crispy, caramelized exterior with a moist, succulent crumb. It wastranscendent. Read more

The food is good but not great. It's quite expensive. The bass was quite good. The string beans and mashed potatoes were pretty... bland. The tiramisù was too sweet and not very flavorful. The restaurant itself is nice and there's a nice bar. Wait staff wasok but not exceptional. The location is amazing during the day with great views of the harbor. I'd give it 31/2.
