This was my first visit. I think it's pronounced El Jefes. This is one of their locations on Commonwealth Ave in Boston,... Massachusetts. It's on the campus at the Boston University. The food was very good in the service was excellent. You'll knowthe photos that I posted. The atmosphere is very clean and relaxing. Music is being played and has an open kitchen concept andyou can see that it is well maintained. One of the most important things in a public service establishment is the bathroom. Ialways give high marks If the bathroom is nice and clean and that was the case here. They had paper towels available and an airhand dryer. The fixtures were very well kept. It made for a comfortable experience. The staff of course is very important andthese people operating the business where well-mannered and polite. I enjoyed my time and the experience there and the price wasvery reasonable, especially for an establishment in Boston, one of the largest cities in the northeast. Enjoy your visit. Ithink you'll love it! Read more

Smallest rice portion I?ve seen personally. When i asked for a little more rice bc i could see the bottom of the bowl, the... worker rudely said it was extra money. Can?t be so frugal when chipotle is down the street. Read more

Came here after a wrestling show in the arena around midnight. It was busy but the line moved fairly quickly. It's similar to... Chipotle where you tell the worker what ingredients you want and pay afterwards. I was a little drunk and told the guy to puteverything in the burrito, I didn't care what. I've been here before and the food is ok if you're looking for something, quick, greasy, spicy, filling, and cheap. I devoured my greasy carnitas burrito with all the ingredients and it did the job of stoppingmy hunger. The food I wouldn't say is 100% authentic but it's ok. If you happen to find yourself near the taqueria during lunchor late at night, definitely stop by and stuff your face! Read more

The rice is always horrible. The lettuce was bad and it overall tasted like I shouldn?t have finished it, if only I hadn?t paid... $10 . Please I beg you just get El Pelon in Fenway. Read more

God bless this restaurant. Everything is closed by 11pm but you can count on El Jefe's to be open and serve you good quality,... filling food. Variety of proteins, veggies, carbs, and toppings gives you and an endless array of customizability. Horchata wasa bit mediocre though. Read more

First time trying this place. Ordered from GrubHub The burritos are very well portioned and the carne asada was tasty. Only... reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because I asked for some toppings on the side and I didn't get them at all, neither did myboyfriend. Also, our burritos were not labeled so we had to cut them open to see who's was who's and the beans made my burrito abit mushy but that's my fault for ordering them in a burrito I guess Read more
