As soon as you open the door the subtle sweet smell welcomes you. There are chocolates, bars, cocoa powders, pastries, and hot... drinks as well. There is even a gift station. I am excited to go back and get cocoa powder to bake with. They even had specialtyhoney. I decided to get a hot chocolate. They have 3 standbys of Dark, Milk, and White. Each month they highlight a chocolatefrom a different place. This month is Peru. The light is slightly dimmed to provide a more intimate atmosphere in the seatingarea, but it was slightly brighter in the ordering area. I got a Milk Hot Chocolate. It was smooth, rich, and slightly thick. Itcoated my mouth in the rich flavor. Not overly sweet, yet sweet enough. On a cold day, it was warming to my soul, and a greattreat. I though with it being made with a milk alternative instead (I requested it) that it might lose some of the richness. Notin the slightest. I had to stop walking when I took my order to go so I could savor it. It was that good. I can only imaginewhat the rest of the menu must taste like, with this luxurious introduction of flavor. The only reason I did not give it 5 starswas it is a bit pricey. I however will say it is worth it. The best hot chocolate I have ever had in my life, and I am achocolate lover. Try it out. If you are a chocoholic don?t come here you won?t be able to leave :-D We got the Madagascar cold drink with almond milk which... was delicious and lighter than the other, the half white chocolate half milk chocolate mocha-hot which was sweeter than theothers, the dark hot chocolate small (don?t get the large!) which was thick but not very sweet. It?s like drinking pure darkchocolate! Very rich! We got the Harvard Square cake and the mocha cake. All were delicious Read more

The cafe is chic and fancy but is generally full on the weekends so getting a table can take some time. The hot chocolate is to... die for and the desserts are generally good depending on your personal preferences. I enjoyed the chocolate raspberry cake butthe passion fruit one left a little to be desired. The chocolates themselves are very good albeit a bit expensive. Definitely agood place to hang out with friends and enjoy a nice summer day in Boston. Read more

I got a Burdick blend dark hot chocolate small size. I must to say - it tastes thick enough that is just what I preferred and... expected, compared to those cocoa powder drink which taste thin and watery. They serve hot chocolate beverage made of melted, solid chocolate shavings from chocolate bar, blended with hot liquid. I think small size of the drink is just perfect, otherwiseyou may want some water to remove thickness or sticky feeling on your tongue. There are different chocolate flavors selling inthe store. I bought one bag of dark chocolate shavings $26, you can literally reproduce the beverage by yourself at home! Cozyplace filled with chocolate aroma. Read more

Cute place that reminded me of being in Europe, especially with the snow outside. I had a dark hot chocolate with almond milk... and it's basically like drinking a melted candy bar! So rich and delicious. They are good at labeling things with wheat, dairy, eggs, etc and do have vegan options and gluten free baked goods. Read more

On a cold, snowy Boston day, their hot chocolate hit the spot! Probably the best hot chocolate I?ve ever had in my life and it... goes well complemented with any of their dessert. They do a great job of keeping the place COVID-friendly and can takeout, too.If you?re in town visiting or live in the city and want a warm hot cup of coco, this is the place to go! Read more

We went walking after brunch and decided to stop by because the shop looked so cute! We decided to buy a couple chocolates to... try and a small gift for my daughter for her stocking. The flavors were perfect and the quality of the chocolates were great. Myonly thing is the prices were quite high ~$4 per chocolate piece and the lines were disorganized so while shopping it was hardto navigate where to line up to check out or just shop. Read more
