This restaurant was a really pleasant surprise for my wife and me. I've been to Bangkok several times, and love Thai food. Most... restaurants have OK Thai food that pales next to the real thing. But Montien's food was both authentic and truly tasty. Thesauces were particularly flavorful, much more than most US Thai restaurants. Add to that the decor, which is a big step up frommost without being plastic and sterile. And, finally, they actually had good jazz--not generic stuff but quality jazz--playingat a perfect volume. The restaurant way exceeded our expectations, can't wait to go back. Read more

The restaurant was pretty empty when we went. They were able to seat my group very easily. The regular menu seemed like... American Asian takeout food but we discovered that they had a separate thai menu. I ordered the fried fish with sweet chilisauce and it was humongous. It was the whole fish and the sauce on it was very delicious. I definitely could have shared it withanother person. Read more

I had high expectations going to Montien Thai, however, the food was slightly underwhelming. The Pad Thai seemed a little under... seasoned and the flavor was more on the bland side. The drunken noodles were good. The plating was colorful. However, there wasa high ratio of vegetables to noodles and I wish there were more noodles, given the price. The restaurant did, however, have anextremely great ambiance. My friend described the room decor and colors as “dessert earth tones: burnt sienna with reddishbrown accents with a touch of tan grey and this color palette is incorporated in the furniture”. There is cohesive styling allaround and it is clear that a lot of thought was put into the ambiance of the restaurant Read more

Excellent Thai food and service. The rice plates are all delicious. The minced pork with basil, the roast duck, the pork with... green beans, are all fantastic. If you're adventurous, try the shrimp ceviche -- so good! The coconut soup with shrimp orseafood is one of my favorites. Pad Thai with shrimp and chicken is great and if you don't like peanuts, ask for without. Thaiice coffee and ice tea are also good. Read more

Everything we tried with my family was extremely delicious. We had pad Thai and also crispy pad thai. Red curry was also... incredible and it was our favorite. Service was slow. They bring water almost at the end of the dinner. Overall it was a reallygood experience. I give four stars because there was a thin aluminum foil in my food. It happens and it's not a big deal I willdefinitely go there again. Read more

Solid Thai restaurant near Chinatown. Came here for dinner with a friend and got the panang curry with duck and the thai milk... tea. The milk tea was excellent and its slightly woody aftertaste was interesting. Curry was a bit sweet, but I liked thevariety of veggies that came with it. There aren’t a lot of Thai food options in the area, so if you’re looking for a quickthai spice fix, I would recommend checking them out. Read more

Located in Boston city in a busy part of town with a lot entertainment and places to hang out. Nice seating arrangements with a... bar. Old school ambience with red wooden furniture theme. I order the crab anchovy papaya salad and regular papaya salad. Iwould definitely rank it as the top two best places to have papaya salad in north America from all the cities I have eaten inCanada and the US. The fish larb I order was beautiful played with entire fish deep fried. Fish was so well fried you could eveneat the entire fish head like chips. All the bones cracked like chips. The dressing was isarn style larb sour spicy smoky withthe roasted rice powder and salty all same time. Fish was fresh not frozen. I believe they used sea bass. I also has friedtilapia fillet with garlic. That was ok I wish they used the whole fish . The fish was definitely not frozen. The staffextremely polite. Owner very kind. We had Thai ice tea which was having a nice strong tea flavor. A lot of restaurants make ittoo milky and lighter color. Which I don't like. Menu is very well made hitting the classic Thai notes and having some uniquedishes such as the Thai larb. This restaurant surprised me. It competes with some of the best restaurants in midtown NYC. Itbeats 90 percent of the restaurants in bay area. I have to give this one a 5. Please keep up good work and keep the standardhigh and please keep it authentic. Read more
