Good food but wayyyyyy too expensive … this was a $300 for 2 people. This is not a top resturant where you spend those money.... Outside seating… not great… tables are too low and chairs uncomfortable…. Definitely a must to improve. Food and winewise: tasty food but expensive and wine list very short and not at the $300 level bill. Service good … but not impressed.Another resturant in Boston not to go back. And by the way …. The name “the butcher shop” you expect A LOT OF MEATCHOICES…. With special cuts …. And this is not the place. Read more

Passable but overpriced food and underwhelming service. I came in a weeknight evening while it was not busy and sat at the bar.... Was served a bottle of beer, reasonably tasty but uninspired beef tartare for $21, and a downright basic burger for $28 (I’vehad better for half that within blocks of this place). Server took quite a while to get around to taking my order, came aroundat odd times, while my mouth was full, in the middle of courses to ask “how was it?”. Atmosphere is fine with a few niceart pieces but nothing special aside from a prime location on tremont. Really couldn’t justify recommending this when it’ssurrounded by some of the best restaurants in town. Read more

The Butcher Shop has been on our list of restaurants to eat in Boston. We finally tried it out last night and it exceeded our... expectations! Shauna greeted us and was so exceptionally friendly. You can tell she really enjoys people!!! We ordered a coupledrinks to start, Greek salad (dressing was 10/10) charcuterie board, half roasted chicken, hangar steak (medium-perfect!),potatoes and to top it off a crème brûlée! It was also National rose day, what a kind gesture to provide us a taste tocelebrate! I highly recommend trying this spot out, good ambiance and great food! Read more

Pretty rough honestly. Ambience is really cool but the food just isn’t, especially for the price point. Expecting a place... called The Butcher Shop to have a good burger, we ordered the $28 burger (medium)… came out basically raw and each bun wasthicker than the patty itself. Sub par. Also got the tagliatelle bolognese - solid but a little chewy and too hot like it’dbeen in the microwave. The couple next to us received a raw pork chop, which they obviously had to send back, which providedgood entertainment. Read more

I went for Mother's Day. I had been in the past and I was looking forward to a delicious steak. I ordered the menu provided for... Mother's Day which was the prime rib eye. The quality of the meat and the preparation was very disappointing. The steak seemedto be boiled rather than grilled. The taste was not of a rib eye. A restaurant of this standard should be ashamed. I definitelywill not return. The staff was very nice, but a very disappointing meal. Read more

Great wine selection and the hanger steak was absolutely perfect. However the staff seemed overwhelmed during our visit. I... don’t think I will visit again but also didn’t have a bad time. The restaurant is cute and definitely worth a try! Read more

A summer night in Boston and we decided to go The Butcher Shop in the South End. You can never go wrong with any of Barbara... Lynch’s restaurants. We started with their bread with honey and butter. I can have a few plates of this with just a glass ofwine! The mixed of the honey and butter is heavenly! We wanted something light for our dinner. For appetizer, we ordered thesummer squash salad topped with some dried crispy and flavorful prosciutto. Next, we had the spicy tomato soup. For entree, weordered the Agnolotti. It had cloumage, figs and lemon verbena. It tasted light, fluffy and lemony! I love this dish best. Thewines, food and service were excellent as always. Read more
