I’ve been wanting to try the Cottage for brunch for awhile. We went on Friday and they have cheaper drinks Mon - Fri which was... a bonus. The drinks were a fun way to start off the meal. The service was slow but the waitress was nice. The biscuits and gravywere really good but the gravy was a little on the greasy side and tons of sausage. It was very filling that’s for sure. Idon’t think I ate all day after that. The eggs Benedict was spot on but you had to pay extra for hash browns but it wasn’tan additional charge for fries. Not sure why it’s all a potato. Ha! The cottage fry up was full of meat and was anotherfilling meal. All the meals that came out looked delicious. It’s very cute and quaint inside and very inviting. They also haveoutside seating with heat lamps. Also they had this really good homemade hot sauce and if you call 72 hours in advance they willmake it fresh for you and I will be ordering it. The jam was good too! Read more

A lovely local spot perfect for weekend brunch or an after-work dinner. The food is good, not incredible but one of the better... options in Bothell if you plan to dine in somewhere. We often get the mocha and spiced cider in the mornings. I appreciatetheir wine and cocktail selection, too. It’s hard to judge when they’re too busy to take non-reservations, so I recommendalways reserving online in advance. Weekend brunch seems to have the most activity, so plan to reserve a day or two beforehand.Their kitchen can be slow sometimes, so expect a bit of a wait to get the food in peak times. But last time we had a long wait, the server brought us a complimentary scone/muffin to keep us sated for a while, which was a nice gesture — and a greatbusiness strategy to avoid hungry upset diners! The patio has heated tables, which is nice, but the tables themselves are oftenwobbly and offer little legroom. If you are noise sensitive like I am, eating inside the dining room space will likely be toomuch; the noise bounces like crazy (and a lot of the patrons are loud chatters!) :) Read more

Impressive delicate food served here. It’ll be great if you are not super hungry when you arrive. It takes a while to be... seated and to wait after ordering. The waiting line was long at the 9am opening for brunch. French press coffee was about 1liter size. Good for maybe 3 ppl to share. Quiche has really nice texture, the best I’ve tasted. Biscuit and gravy was verynicely done. Even the oatmeal looked great. Prices are pretty steep though. Read more

Another day of exploration leads us to The Cottage here where we were greeted promptly on a sunny Sunday, then told we needed to... allow 15 minutes for availability, but we could provide a phone number and receive a text when a table was ready. No prob. Lotsof cute shops, good sidewalks and shaded benches here and there, or if you're a speed walker you could dash down to the riverand back. Seated at one of those marble-topped bistro cafe-type tables, we accessed the menu via QR code. Ordered coffee, avocado toast, croissant baked French toast and sides of bacon. Received everything in a timely and friendly manner. Food wasgood. Not amazeballs, but good. What dropped down the rating has not a lot to do with the food, but other stuff: a lot of flies, especially in the restrooms; the table we were shown to hadn't been wiped down too well as it had coffee drips and some stickystains on it even before we sat down. So yes, a nice place, a friendly place, great location. Parking can be easy on street ornearby, though at busy times you may have to walk a bit. We liked our visit here to The Cottage. Read more

My husband and I moved to Washington close to 2 years ago and within our first month here we went to The Cottage. We were taken... care of by Madison and she was so welcoming the entire time. I had the shrimp n grits (recommend trying!) during brunch hoursand sat out on the patio. Over the last 2 years my husband and I have gone back a few times, however our last time we finallysaw Madison again. 2 years later and she was able to remember us, asked us how the lady 2 years in Washington had been andremembered that we were newlyweds. That day happened to be our anniversary and we were surprised with a complimentary dessert tocelebrate. I’m in absolutely awe to have found a place that is cozy, has good food, and staff that is invested in each personthat dines in. Read more

Amazing food, friendly service and wonderful decor with affordable prices. What more could you want?! I'm probably shooting... myself in the foot as it was a 30 minute wait for a table, but this place is awesome sauce! Croissant came out warm flaky andsinful with butter and fresh jam. The biscuits and gravy (pictured) was perfect. Not to salty, the eggs were cooked perfectlyand the biscuits were amazing, light fluffy with a bit of crunch on the outside. First time visiting, but won't be my last. Bravo!!! Read more

I thought about this review for a few weeks, whether to post or let it go. I decided to post it because The Cottage's... advertising doesn't live up to the experience and I'd want this information before deciding to spend money here. My friend andI have been here twice. The first time they were crowded, we added our names to the list and waited. No problem there. When wewere seated we were put right by the door. It was a cold and snowy day but that's what they had so we took it. We waited nearly45 minutes for our food which was cold when it got to the table. My friend said her Eggs Benedict was tasty but it had sat for awhile before being served. I had the turkey Havarti sandwich which had been recommended by a local business where we'd browsedwhile waiting. I had been looking forward to eating here on the strength of the positive reviews and the website. I love goodfood that is cooked to order and made with healthy ingredients. I was ready to excuse a lot but was surprised at the service andmediocre food. My sandwich was okay but it wasn't delicious and waiting 45 minutes for a sandwich and cold eggs benedict was nota great experience. The coffee was good. I thought I'd try it again and came back a few weeks ago. We reserved a table online(surprisingly you have to use a credit card, something that I haven't seen with similar restaurants) and arrived on time. Wewaited nearly a full hour for avocado toast (photo below) and a Breakfast Croissant. Our server did not come back, not evenonce, to check on us or to offer more coffee or water. When I finally flagged him down his response was "you have to pay for asecond coffee." There was no explanation for the wait or apology offered. As we got closer to the hour mark I stood up and sawa woman taking the next table's order. She looked like she might be a manager and at this point we were ready to pay for ourcoffee and walk out. She was the manager and apologized. She said the kitchen "ran out of avocados" Read more
