Lovely place and delicious food! The jenchiladas were YUMMY, with pumpkin are a good mix of a little spice and sweet. The... braised beef was also perfect. We were given a recommendation to give this place a shot. A little surprised it is only open for dinner which meant we had to... come back after 4 pm. So glad we did. It was delicious. Talk about an oasis in the middle of a desert. If you are driving between Bryce Canyon and Capitol Reef, you should stop here.... Everything was amazingly fresh and tasted great. The bison was perfectly cooked and their spice rub was so good that we boughtsome from their little market that's set up next to the host station. Shylee was our server and she did a tremendous job,including wrapping up a tea mug that we fell in love with while dining. We were given lap blankets because it was a colder day,and the entire wait staff was so, so friendly. A friend and I came to Escalante specifically so we could eat at HBG and adventure. We were not disappointed. We came here 2... nights in a row so we could try it all. This was a great choice! Everything on the menu was delicious. We timed our visits welland had beautiful sunset drives back across the Hogback on Hwy 12. The outdoor setting is perfection, the sweet kittieswandering around begging for belly rubs made my day, the outstanding service topped it all off. Read more
