I was enroute; a return trip home from Omaha NE to my adoptive home in San Antonio. I was in no hurry so I plotted a stop in... Bowie Texas, drawn by its historical name. 10 am is a perfect time to stroll around any small town in my opinion. Mason streetwhere Nostalgia Antiques can be found has a store front vibe that easily beckons you in. So I go in. Soda fountain Ice cream barwith stools. Oh ya! Display cases full of all the stuff things, wishes and dreams are made of... Antiques next to collectablesnext to side by side lunch tables and chairs like a maz and so much to look at! I made a lunch reservation and enjoyed the mostdelicious, tender pork chops I have ever had!, .. With lemon buttered potatoes and a soo fresh salad. Lenny, the owner andavailable at your service captain has a humble bow to staff and kitchen chef unlike anywhere else in these parts. Just ask thelot of happy folks comfortably dining! My grandmother used to take me here often. I got to go back a few weeks ago and it's exactly how I remember! Exceptional... service, food is amazing, good prices, huge drinks, plus all the meals come with dessert, yes please! My mom and I absolutely loved this place! We had been here several times looking at the antiques but hadn't eaten here until... today! The food was amazing! We loved the atmosphere with the older music like Patsy Klein playing in the back ground . Youfelt like you were back in the 50s-60s. Our waiter was so nice too! We'll be back again for sure!! My family and I stopped in to Nostalgia Antiques during a road trip, and we are glad we did! We found the food to be a bit bland... overall, but the stew was excellent. I normally won't give five stars to a restaurant that doesn't serve absolutely excellentfood--but the fun, kitchy atmosphere and the absolutely wonderful wait staff more than made up for a slightly bland chickensalad sandwich. I know the next time we're heading that direction we'll be sure to stop in again. Read more
Great service, food and value. A unique atmosphere of antiques and nostalgia. We keep going back and recommending to friends.... I had a taco salad special and my husband had a patty melt. Dessert is included ???? and drinks. We enjoyed our meals. Read more
