Had such a great time here. Food was delicious, server was so friendly and helpful, and the decor and music made for such a fun... vibe. I want to go back and try everything on the menu! Kim was lovely and greeted me with the biggest smile. She was kind and friendly during our entire interaction. Even if the food... was mediocre, I would have returned because of the great service. The ackee spring rolls were delicious! I had those and the saltfish fritters for appetizers. The fritters were ok. I had their... jerked pork meal. The pork was not jerked pork. It was more a stewed pork and was just ok. I tasted the oxtail which was ok aswell. I hear the steamed fish is great and their curry too so I would return to try those. Read more
This is not your father's Jamaican restaurant; instead a modern more safisticated take on Jamaican staples (curry goat, chicken... and ox tail). I had the oxtail and bean stew. GF had the "boneless" curry goat (that wasn't boneless). Not a problem for GF asbones in a goat dish are inescapable in her experience. Also no deduction in star for this error (more of an a alert for folksreading this review). Oxtail stew which is a rare choice for me; I found it a lot of work extracting the meat from the bone andconnective tissue. GF suggested to elimate this concern it would need to cook longer. Having said that, cooking it longer maydiminish the taste she added. Recommend the Ackee spring roll and the house brewed ginger beer (refreshing in itsnon-carbonated form). Had the opportunity to check out this restaurant for the first time. It surpassed my expectations! Friendly, helpful and... thoughtful staff. High quality food and a very reasonable price. Had the salt fish dumplings, and a mango/chickpea salad. Definitely will be going back soon. Read more
