Server was fantastic in the beginning then after dropping the food did not return. Yes he was busy and understaffed. But he said... I'll check back and get you a different lunch if you don't like this. So every time I have gone to TooJays for years I havealways ordered the shmrip salad pita. Which no longer is on the menu. The shrimp used to be large and in a sour cream sauce thatwas fantastic. Now it's ground up to little pieces just like the chicken and egg salad and very disappointing. Since he didn'tcheck back I watched my friend eat her lunch. We could not get his attention and had to ask the manager for our check. My friendloved her fried chicken over salad. Took my mother here for dinner, and she said that everything tasted just like her grandmother's cooking. The latkes were crispy... and delicious. Matzo ball soup was the best I ever had! Portions were plentiful and prices were reasonable for what you got. Ourserver was patient and attentive. We were too full to sample the desserts, but we will plan better next time ????. Ordered a Pastrami on Rye to bring home to my wife. Simple order right? Nope, waited close to 15-20 minutes. Not that big of an... issue but still long enough. My wife but into it and asked, "Is this corned beef?" When the Pastrami tastes like corned beefit's a problem. It was fatty, no fork in the take out for the Cole slaw. Ordered food online from Too Jays website - easy to navigate the online menu. I placed a pick up order on Sept 28th at approx... 4:45 PM - this was the eve of hurricane IAN. When I arrived at 5:10 for pick up the doors were locked but lights on. As Ilooked into the restaurant thru the glass a young man appeared from behind the deli counter with my order. He came to the doorand handed it to me with a smile and said be safe. He advised me that due to the storm they were closing a 5:00 PM thatevening. The egg was darn near raw as can get. Got food poisoning. This was a photo i took a day later, because i was just that lucky i... did not throw out my overly undercooked meal, because ubereats asked me just so you know, the restaurant told me that if it wasdelivery that i need to talk to them and before that i was not even going to get the full refund, just a refund for myundercooked egg item. Friday AM breakfast. Quiet, not busy. The table service was excellent. The coffee, bagel and home fries were good. My custom... omelette, ordered with peppers, onions and mushrooms, was poorly executed. Overdone, peppers and onions were hard and not fullycooked. I ordered, for pick-up, what was supposed to be a shepherd's pie! The cheese was just slapped on, did not bother to melt it! I... was told, when I got to the restaurant, that they were charging me for a dinner order because I ordered past the lunch menutime. The difference between dinner or lunch is only that you choose a soup or salad. It was $16.58, sure not worth it! Therewere only two tables occupied at the restaurant, no wonder!
