Terrible experience. Our server Melissa seemed completely uninterested in serving us. She would give the locals all the... attention, so much to sit down at their tables to chat, while she would barely glance at us and didn't once do a quality checkon our food, which was beyond sub par. The nachos were passable, but the rest of the food was not. The fish and chips werebeyond dry, the corn on the steaks looked close to rotting and grey. The steaks themselves were cold, rubbery and tough. Whichmight have been salvaged by the hp sauce, but it looked watered down. A quality check from the server might have helped, but tobe honest a new steak probably would have come out the same. I'm not one that needs constant attention at a bar, but at leastpretend like you care. Clearly just caters to regulars and does not care about the average guest experience. Very disappointed. Ordered the shrimp appetizer which was dry and rubbery. Followed by a fish and chips which was much the same. The tartar sauce... was basically just mayonnaise and relish combined. Furthermore, the HP sauce (chucks sauce) was literally diluted with water.Working in the restaurant industry for 10 years has taught me enough to say avoid this place if you want a 'pub' meal. It'sreally hard to cook bad pub food, however this place deserves 5 stars for bad service and bad food. We went to this restaurant on a Tuesday for dinner and it was fabulous. We came back on Saturday and ordered the same thing. It... was disgusting. I ordered the steak and lobster. The lobster was mush and the steak was tasteless. The service was great andfelt very sorry for our waitress as she was run off her feet. Terrible service by a waitress who said she was hungover. It wasn't busy at all. Took a solid 20 minutes before anyone even came... to take our drink orders. We had to repeat the order as she was looking around the restaurant as we were ordering. She walkedpast several times without clearing the appetizer dishes even after delivering our meals. Don't eat here on a Sunday. Low staffed, kitchen will burn flat bread and has no quality control. 40 customers for 2... waitresses at 8 pm. The manager here should be let go and head office should have seen this .. You just never know who youare serving. I've worked in kitchens for well established restaurants and this is basic knowledge . How to bake flat bread andnot burns it and it be cardboard. Took 10 minutes to flag down a waitresses for help., she didn't drop by to ask ifeverything was fine because she's so damn busy since she is short staffed and working thr bar and thr tables with 1 othergirl. A disappointing experience. The service was good when we first arrived, but it got busier after a while, and it didn't seem they... had the staff to keep up. We ordered Mozzarella Sticks to start. They were fresh, and tasted good, but you only get six for$10. I wouldn't say it's worth it. Our food came out in a reasonable time. My son got a kids cheeseburger, which didn't comewith any lettuce or tomato. You just get ketchup, mustard, and relish brought to the table to add yourself. I ordered nachos,with added guac for $2.99. The guac did not taste good. It was very bland and generic tasting. The nachos themselves had barelyany toppings on them, and were pretty dry. They seemed overcooked, as well. I tried sucking it up, and eating them as they were,but it did not taste good at all. I sent them back, but was not offered new ones, or anything else at all. I would have beenwilling to pay the price difference for something else. The server was apologetic, but was pretty busy with other tables. Iasked for re-fill on my son's drink, which never came. The bill arrive while I was at the bathroom, which was not clean, andsmelled bad. I was surprised to see I had still been charged for the nachos, and the guac. I don't expect things for free, but Ididn't even eat half of it, and sent it back after politely explained my dissatisfaction. I would have been willing to pay forhalf of it. A short wait to get in. Woman at the door was soooooo busy and managed to Keep her cool. Super friendly waitress, Nina, took... care of us. Brought us our wine quickly and took our order. Almost 50 minutes later our food arrived. We were told in thebeginning that there were only two servers and two cooks so we expected a delay but that was excessive. One tip I would give iskeep your customer updated. After 45 minutes with no updates we were about to go to the bar to find out where the food is. Okenough of the downside, the food and prices are amazing. Grilled chicken club sandwich was excellent flavor and texture. NewYork steak, (10oz for $16) was perfectly cooked, juicy and the fries and gravy as a side was delicious. Nina and the rest of thestaff (other than previously mentioned delay), took great care of us and smiled throughout their ordeal of being so shortstaffed. Very impressed and we will come back.
