Want for lunch to Seasons dining room with a group of 10. Great service and excellent food. Fish and chips are... amazing...light crispy batter and perfectly cooked. Food came out fast and hot. Would recommend to anyone. Best fish andchips I've had in Muskoka and I've tried them all! They set us up by the fireplace with a nice view of the river on a coldsnowy day in November. Read more

We liked the location at first. It turned out they were building 3 new units on the beach. I go to Muskoka to get away from the... noise of builders. They started at 830am so it wasn't really enjoyable. Although our unit was at the end full kitchen. Carpet inthe bedroom was stained and the carpet in the front porch. Maybe tile for the porch. We enjoyed the peace and quiet beforethey started. The staff and owner very nice. Had the pool to myself we liked going Into town. The unit is all we needed intotown peaceful perfect with the full kitchene we did not do the restaurant if I had known there was construction would of pickedanother place. Otherwise if no construction I would of enjoyed my stay Read more

I had great hopes for a lovely 5 day/4 night visit to Patterson Kaye. I had worked there the summer I was 15 and 60 years later... my daughter was treating me to a 75 th birthday present, which was on my bucket list. I even took them a picture of the staffthat lived there in 1962. Although the staff and new owners were very pleasant, our experience was far from good. It seems likethey are mainly trying to restore the resort. The new buildings and restoration come first rather than attending to theexperience and needs of their guests. We rented number 35 of the Scotias. The building leaves a lot to be desired. The room isvery dated with broken tiles on the floor. There are bare wires hanging from the ceiling where the fire alarm should be. In thebathroom, the bathtub shot out tons of black debris when we turned on the jets. We put out our towels, as requested, but werenot given clean ones until the day before leaving and I had to ask for those. However, it was well stocked with dishes, cutlery, fridge, stove, oven and small appliances. The hot tub was not working, which we knew in advance but we expected the pool to beworking and it wasn't. It didn't pass inspection and this was on July 28th. Another review says it still isn't working. Therewas no staff around to give us any equipment to play horseshoes, volleyball or to get life preservers for the boats that weresupposed to be available. The restaurant finally opened on Wednesday for dinner and we had a lovely meal there served by a verypersonable young girl. However, the limited menu made it very difficult to choose something and the expensive price was also adeterrent. The only thing we used the resort for was sleeping and an occasional walk around the property. Wi-Fi is available atthe main building but often it was closed and locked so we couldn't get in. Our BBQ was broken and would not light. We had toprovide our own drinking water as none was offered. Flower gardens and the general upkeep of th Read more

3 years in a row visiting this place. It is a beautiful area but this year I was not impressed with the resort. A construction... happening, blocking the view from our room, no smoke detector inside the studio, construction starts at 7 am drilling andhammering from Monday ti Friday, No picnic table for the scotias to seat outside to eat eventho requested one. I left thegarbage 2 days outside for the staff to collect and Noone came until I notified the reception on the second day.The swimmingpool was also closed. The room was clean with linens. Read more

We went for an eight night stay in a suite with a single queen size bed and a pullout sofa bed. The room was less attractive... than shown on the website photos, but it was clean. We accepted it. Our view to the water was blocked by a new development inprogress, but we accepted it. There was a note at the water taps to not drink the water due to high bacteria level, so bottledwater was provided. Not expected, but they dealt correctly with that situation. We accepted this. The restaurant previouslyoffered breakfast, but not anymore, so we either had to eat in our small room or drive somewhere. We accepted this. On thesecond day (Saturday), we noticed that the toilet tank did not refill anymore. We contacted the management and aftermaintenance checked, we were told that it needed to be replaced. In the meantime, we were offered to move into one of the nicerand much larger buildings. As we were only going to be there for a night or two, we stayed in minimal space to avoid that theywould have an extra cleaning effort. Two nights later, the toilet got replaced by a very nice maintenance guy and we moved backto the small room. We had hoped to stay longer (for an extra) charge in the larger place, but it was unfortunately alreadybooked. We accepted this. The remaining mornings, we were awaken at 7am by the construction noise. We understood that this isthe only time of the year that they can build it. We accepted it. We checked out the night before as we needed to leave earlythe next morning for an event and paid the outstanding balance in full. Two days later, we received a notification of a chargeto our credit card for $100. When calling for clarification, we are accused of stealing 4 pillows! We did NOT take anypillows. When trying to explain that we had only received and used two pillows, and our daughter had brought her own favouritepillow, we were told that this is unusual. No common sense argument was possible with Mary Hunter, the General Read more

I have been visiting Patterson Kaye Resort for the past 8 plus years, I go up mid September & request the same Scotia room every... time. To me the early fall is the best time to visit Muskoka, the summer crowds have left & it is so quiet, I go down to thedock around midnight just to hear the loons calling & hear owls most nights. I usually do my own cooking but always have thefish & chips on Friday & have never been disappointed. Everyone who works at PKL have always been more than friendly &accommodating, the rooms are clean & the kitchenette is well equipped. Yes, some of the units are somewhat dated but I believe amajor renovation has begun which will make PKL an even more exciting place to visit. I will certainly be visiting again thisfall & always look forward to my stay at PKL. (Doug from Brampton) Read more
