Incredible cheese steak. Tasty hand cut fries. Always great service even though they're always busy. But they're always busy... because they're so good. Read more

As a Philadelphia native (Mt, Airy), South Philly Steaks is the spot for a taste of home. The steaks are never soggy but I do... miss having them cut with SPK (IYKYK) on the steaks. They are a little smaller than the average Philadelphia steak and for usoriginals I haven't seen any wiz (not that I'd ask for it anyway). The steaks come with an additional taste of home, Herr'schips! The atmosphere reminds me of the steak shops in the city, with sports paraphernalia on the walls. Don't get me wrong,South Philly Steaks is the real deal and better than most I've tried down here in Bradenton. Read more

So this is the first time I have been at south Philly. Got 2 subs one was the garlic bomb, 2 mountain dews and paid $37 with a... $3 tip. It was take out so not big on tipping for really no service. I thought that was a little step. I get home and open it upand the meat looks like hamburger. There was a lot of meat definitely but it didn't look like any steak I've ever seen. Itsmelled great and it tasted pretty good. Overall I was satisfied, will I go back? Possibly. My biggest thing was the meat justlooked like hamburger. Read more

Born and raised in Philly how do you review a Florida cheese steak? Does it get a curve? With the big bold south Philly sign and... the word Philly written absolutely everywhere I say no. Pros: ROLL WAS EXCELLENT, dill pickles were fresh. CONS: First of all nocheese steak is served with bell peppers. The meat was somehow soft. If it weren?t for the roll teeth aren?t necessary here. Thetaste was close but not enough for me to really want to return unless it were to order plain rolls. Another local known standardof it doesn?t need ketchup it?s good. I had to add a healthy amount of ketchup. The prices were a little high and I got charged12 cents per pickle slice. You have two really types of Philly steaks. The originals like pats, Steve?s prince and genos. Thenyou have the standard chopped steaks. I?ve had thousands of them. This place wouldn?t be in business long. In south, north oreven northeast Philly. If you have a craving this might take the edge off but it won?t be the cure. Tip: if your brand is soheavily SOUTH PHILLY then stay true to the name. Or lighten up the branding. The food and atmosphere were not Philadephia atall. Way too hipster. Read more
