Went to Jakes on Saturday August 27,2022 and this was my first visit since pandemic. I miss the old vibe and servers????????.... Prior to pandemic the restaurant/bar was busy, mature crowd, the place was vibrant , food and music was great. My experiencethis time was not great and that’s it for my family and I. Waited over 20 minutes for someone to greet me when I enter therestaurant and approximately another 15 minutes to get a table even though the place was not full and there were empty tablesclose by the bar. Two female servers and one male appeared overwhelmed. Food was bland and the service was slow even when therestaurant was half empty. We ate and order another drink which was served to us while the other dirty dishes were on the tableand we had to call the server and ask her to clear the dishes. There were five of us at the table and we got two menus and threesets of cutlery. The band took a break, didn’t bother to return on time and when band members went outside to call the othermembers who were on the patio they came in maybe 10-15 minutes later. The music was too loud. My friend said we should give theplace another try but knowing what my previous experiences were prior to Covid and seeing what the service and experience wasthis time, I think they need to look where they’re coming from and where they are now. We had a lovely dinner Friday night. I got the pan seared Tilapia, it was great! Waitresses were super nice. The band was... awesome but they had to pack it in early. Unfortunately the place was pretty empty. Will try again on a Saturday night. Read more
Wanted to try the food here, but didn't even get there - since their ketchup bottle on the tables were not taken cared of and... exploded on our group. From what we heard too, it already happened earlier that day. Some folks might be getting good food, butwe got rotten ketchup. On top of that management or the owner didn't seem to care and it hit someone on the head and mightseriously damage a brand new phone. It left many of our clothes stained and our kids upset. Hidden gem! Only decent place to go in Brampton/Mississauga area. We had a large party and they seated us for a lovely 5 course... tasting menu. To our surprise the food was finger licking and above average. All the food was organic and seasonal. They reallyhave a culinary genius hiding in the kitchen and the most bubbly and fun staff who catered to all our modifications. Likeseriously lamb and Harrisa ribs? Spanish croquets? Food is fresh and tasty. Quantity is enough and fries are so so good, specially the sweet potato fries. They have a patio to... accommodate 20-25 people( 6-7 tables). Servers are friendly and service is not too bad. The best item on their menu are the fishand chips. Read more
Service was quick and the servers were kind. The food was disappointing for the price point. Although, for a large party the... food was served quite quickly. The seafood pasta was subpar for a seafood house, one of my mussels definitely was spoiled and3/7 of them were closed (so not ready to eat). The shrimp tacos looked great, however, the beef dip 2 people ordered were icecold along with the aus jus. Overall, disappointing experience with the food and unlikely to return. Read more
