If a Mexican restaurant has good chips and salsa they are good with me. So it started off bad from the start. Beware.... Our... prices on our receipt did not match the menu so check your receipt before you pay. They obviously increased their prices but wastoo cheap to change on their menu. The tortilla chips were badly broken and hard. I did not enjoy my taco salad. It hadcucumbers ,radishes, mushrooms, and onion. No sour cream or shredded cheese. Totally not what I am use to. Other family membershad fish tacos (whole piece of tilapia )on flour shell, fajitas(came out sizzling), queso cheese was cheese that thickened bythe end of dinner and was a mix of yellow and white cheese. We are use to QUESO being white cheese only. It was a waste. Bigbowl for $6 though. Beans are pintos or black beans. We are use to refried beans. It's very dim lighting too so you barely cansee your food. What are they hiding? Lots of other people seemed to get drinks while there. Maybe they know how to make a gooddrink. I would not return here if in the area. I would rather make my own Mexican. Read more

I like Mexican food or just all foods in general. But this time this was disappointing. Excited for some authentic Mexican... dishes but ended up getting flavorless tostadas and molcajete with only one small piece of lamb. Topped with a overbearingamount of string beans?? I have no idea what it was but it just didn't sit well with the meat. Picky or not this was just nota good visit. Didn't even want to take the leftovers home. Read more

Very friendly waitress and pretty decent food. I have to remove a star though because the orange sauce that came on the side... with my friend's tacos was outrageously hot. We never have any issues with spicy food really, but this was so hot he almostthrew up. I tried it and was shocked at how hot it was... there is no side sauce listed on the menu with the tacos, so to servethat on the plate and to give no warning whatsoever was very irresponsible of the restaurant. Fantastic all across the board! Staff is professional, courteous, and consistently checks on the table. The prices are more than... fair considering the quality of food which brings us to the most important part.... The menu is packed to the brim with popularfavorites and cultural staples that many would find deliciously satisfying. If you like spicy, no need to specify, they bringthe heat everytime. It looks like a hole in the wall, but these kinds of joints often tend to exceed expectations and RivieraMaya doesn't disappoint by any means. Read more
