It was our 2 year wedding annivesary. We had reservations for 8:30. We were running late. They held the restaurant and kitchen... open for just us 2. It turned out better than we could have ever imagined. It was like we had our own private venue attendantsand chef!!!!!!! We got the voodoo steak special and it was amazing. Im sorry I dont remember our attendants name but she was thesweetest and knew all about the restaurant the menu and the history. We went 2 weeks ago for a date night and absolutely loved every bit of it. If there was any downside, it would be the tables... are really close to each other but then again, it's fairly small setup. But lucky for us, it was only about 1/2 full and theyhad every spread out well. Food was excellent, service was excellent and just overall enjoyed ourselves. Read more
What a wonderful night I had at Monte's! Everyone I encountered, including our server, Ashley, and the owner (Monte) and his... beautiful wife (Ellen) was kind and helpful. First (and definitely last) time to eat here. We got the food takeout, and upon opening the chicken pasta dish at home, it... became abundantly clear that the chicken was rotten. I mean, it literally smelled like garbage. The Bourbon Street ribeye -while sizeable - was not fit to eat. It wasn't "blackened." It was coated with a paste of seasonings so thick that the flavor ofthe steak didn't even resemble steak. The filet was the only edible dish out of the 3. They also put veggies and potatoesswimming down in the steak "sauce" (not packaged separately, since $140 apparently doesn't buy you adequate to-go containers)such that everything was soaked. With regard to the chicken dish that was rotten, I called and told them, but their onlysolution was to drive back there (and spend another 30 minutes) in order to get a replacement dish rather than partially refundfor their shortcomings. It was very slow the night we went, we waited about 2 hours. I have been wanting to try it, and the family was ok with waiting.... The chef was by himself. The food was perfect. He personally came out to apologize for the wait. Take the opportunity to govisit. Read more
