I'll start by saying the food and beer are good. But...the service? Holy hell it was a nightmare. The server we had was... completely disinterested and inattentive. Took us a good 20 minutes to get a beer and even double that time to get ourappetizers. This would be fine if it was packed with people, but it wasn't. I have been a fan of thimble beers since moving to CT, I really like their beers. I stopped by on a hot weekend afternoon after... a 16 mile coastal bike ride. As an eager tourist, expecting to learn some fun facts and such about the brewery. I walked up andsat by the bar, a waitress said a brief hello, maybe they are busy, I'll be patient. Waiting, and waiting....the servers, werewalking in and out and some were talking to other guests at the bar. Nothing. Then a bald male that looks like a supervisor comeout from the back walks around and checks if I've been served yet. Gets me a menu and gets my drinks. Kudos to him, he wasprofessional and courteous and the only male staff waiter I saw. The only other time that I was serviced or even spoken to bythe other waitress was to collect the check. It was a terrible experience. Servers were not malicious in ignoring me. But itwas clear to me that I was an outsider and didn't look cool enough or rich enough to be worth their time. Ordered pickup on the way to Hammonasett with DoorDash for the first time. My order was ready when I arrived and I was greeted... by more than one employee. Everything was perfect with my food, but next time I think I'll dine outside so I can try one oftheir beers. Read more

I've gone here with a few different groups of people now and everyone has loved it each time. They have a really good variety of... beers. The Vanilla Coffee Stout is definitely one of my favoritebeers out of any of the breweries in the area. The food is greatas well!! The Spicy Chicken Sandwich hits all the right notes and I'm in big trouble if I go without my girlfriend and I don'tbring home a California Smash Burger. They have great fries, too! If you've never visited Thimble Island Brewery then make plans to do so soon. Located minutes off of I95 exit 55. Multiple... different seating areas, great beer, food, and live entertainment. You and your loved ones will have a fantastic experience. Thestaff is amazing. They create an atmosphere as if everyone if family. They're always smiling, aim to please, and work to makesure you have the best experience possible. I'd give 10 stars if I could. Highly recommended to all. Everyone should go check itout! Read more

Was in Connecticut visiting my daughter at Yale. The wife and I had the day to ourselves so we decided to check out Thimble... Island. It’s in a little business park and the space is nice. They had outside seating under a tent, but it was on the coolside and had just rained so we sat inside. The space is nice and has lots of natural light. The servers were pleasant. Thebeers were all good but nothing I had was great. I had the IPA flight and then a pint of the Kracken Baltic Porter. The NEIPAsin the flight were a bit too dry and bitter for the style IMO. The Thimble IPA was very pine-forward and bitter. Was wellbrewed with no noticeable flaws. The Triple Ghost was very alcoholic and a bit thin. It didn’t do anything for me. I didn’tlike the fact that the flights are all pre-set and you can’t choose your beers. I’m sure this helps the servers, but I hatethe restriction. They also don’t offer any half pours. As a beer geek I want to try different beers, especially when I’mtraveling and at a place I’ll likely never be again. You have to drive out of the place so you have to be careful not to overindulge and flights is a good way to try a lot of different beers without over consuming. The only other complaint was therewere a lot of flies and gnats that were annoying us at our table that we were constantly shooing away. Read more

Wonderful experience visiting this brewery. Always good food ????, beer ????, and service. Had the humus with Pita. Very... tasty. Pretzel ???? bites with beer ???? cheese.. so very good. Chicken Wings ???? were delicious. French fries ???? withranch dressing very fresh. Overall a great experience. Shared with my friends of course. Read more
