We'd been seeing these 99 Restaurants on our trip through the northeast and decided that this was where we wanted to feast as... our last hoorah traveling through Vermont. Established as the "sit-down", casual dining experience, we'd figured we had bettertry it before we left. The building was quite modern on the outside. The parking situation was a bit unique, but nothing farfrom a Chili's or similar place. An oversight on my part was that online they mentioned about "family packs", where one couldbuy three of their burgers and and order of chicken fingers in a bundle, but this is only for pickup (or I presume delivery withstuff like DoorDash). We decided against the appetizers mainly because the prices were a little higher than we were accustomedto. We went right into the main courses. While I'll say the burgers were quite fine ? KidMDK gave it a 7, DCFuse a 7, I gave itabout a 7.5 mostly because of uniqueness ? they were slightly warm and not as good as we thought they could have been. Nothorrible by any means, just okay. We had the Vermont Cheddar with the cheddar and bacon, sans fried onions. My daughters hadlobster rolls, each of the kinds they had on the menu. They claimed they were good, but not absolutely raving about them. Thefun part was the friendly staff and the popcorn they serve while you wait, another reason we skipped the appetizer. Travellers, this is a solid restaurant with a wide variety of American food. The atmosphere is ambient and the service is... pleasant and with a smile. The menu has a nice variety of items including new twists on old classics. There are severaldifferent types of Mac and cheese. The buffalo chicken mac and cheese is yummy and cheesy, with tangy and hot buffalo chicken ontop. The steak was tasty and perfectly cooked but a bit chewy. The Atlantic salmon was excellent and perfectly cooked. All thesides were tasty. The mashed potatoes were real potatoes and the Cole slaw was delicious. All the sides were perfectly cookedand delicious. We recommend the cauliflower appetizer which was fried. It is worth the stop. Check it out. We recommend. Passing through the area, curb side pick up. I have never seen an employee so happy as Chelsea! She was really efficient helping... everyone outside. Very valuable employee. I honestly wish I could give 0 stars. It's a chain restaurant, so I wasn't expecting anything amazing but something at least... edible would have been nice. I ordered the buffalo mac and cheese to-go, and when I opened it up I was beyond disappointed. Themac and cheese was CLEARLY in a container that comes frozen and they just microwaved it and threw some extra cheese in. Thecheese sauce it came in was the consistency of water, and the extra cheese they through in was just in one congealed piece. Thechicken was obviously frozen and then fried (for way too long) and there was twice as much chicken as mac! There were no bluecheese crumbles to be found. The watery cheese sauce had leaked from the frozen container into the larger container it was putinto, and made the bottom of my bread soggy. Never getting food from here again. $16 wasted. Read more
A decent place to dine. We ended up here since there weren't other options and our hotel was behind this restaurant. The food... was decent, the waitress was super friendly and the drinks were okay. The hostess at the front desk was not in the mood that day(maybe) and the fried seafood was a bit oily. The stuffie was amazing! Read more
We stopped at the 99 Restaurant for a bite to eat while driving through Brattleboro, VT. We ordered the Vermont Cheddar Burger... and the All American Burger entrees which happened to be served by Josh, the Restaurant Manager!?Very pleasant and truly seemsto care that guests enjoy the food and their visit. For dessert we enjoyed a Vanilla Sundae with a moist Chocolate Brownie,Oreo Cookies and whipped cream. The other dessert dish was Chocolate Chip Cookies topped with Vanilla Ice Cream, ChocolateDrizzle and served on a hot skillet. Both were super delish! ?I?d also like to mention Allie, who was the Server for a fewother customers who were seated in booths near ours. We couldn?t help but notice how attentive, kind and pleasant she was to herdiners! Lucky diners!
