As I came here to write this review, I was completely shocked to see there were any bad reviews. My family has come here for... countless special meals- from birthdays to new year’s eve.. We are all completely obsessed with the filet and mashed potatoes, and have never once had a bad experience with either dish. We all have very particular temperature preferences too, which arealways spot on- even a tedious “blue rare” request. Oftentimes, I will just be going about my day and begin dreaming aboutthis food….. The ambiance and staff are also both very pleasant. I am always looking forward to my next meal at Briar Rose. The negative reviews made me concerned, but everyone else I talked with encouraged me to go and I'm so glad I did. Not only was... our waiter fantastic, but the food was amazing and they comped our prosecco and one dessert because we were on our honeymoon. Itwas a wonderful place for our date and we're excited to make it an annual tradition! Read more

This was our 18th wedding anniversary. As locals we wanted to support a hometown restaurant. I wish I could say the food was... good. It was mediocre at best. We ordered the ribeye steak and it was fat and grisly and without flavor. I had ordered thebutter to go over the steak and it was still flavorless. I actually had to ask for steaksauce. Every server knows it's a badsteak when someone asks for sauce, but we were never asked how our steak was or we would have given an honest answer. We didlike the staff and servers though. They were attentive and friendly but should have asked about the steak. Disappointing. Ialso got the beet and arugula salad which was just ok. And, the mashed potatoes were also flavorless as well. The only thingthat tasted ok was the five mac and cheese. In the end, we appreciated the service but the food was less than desireable for theprice. Count on paying for each individual thing on the menu, right down to the flavorless butter on the steak for $6. Pleasemake improvements. Read more

Very mediocre experience. The menu listed on their website is currently out of date with different pricing and menu items than... are actually being distributed in hard copy. When ordering we found out that neither of the items we wanted were available. Thenoise level in the restaurant was so loud we had to nearly ahout to hear each other. The waiter was non-engaging, never made eyecontact and spent less than 5 minutes at our table all night. The escargot was overcooked and had the texture of a pencileraser. My buffalo ribeye steak was under seasoned and undercooked, it came out cold in the middle and rare instead of mediumrare. The salmon my wife had was actually cooked perfectly and the only reason a second star was added here. Would notrecommend to my friends. Read more

If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would! Our waiter, Steve, was great, he was super attentive and offered great... menu suggestions as well. All of the staff was ready to help and the service was never lacking. The drinks and cocktails werefantastic and the Smoked Old Fashion was a unique and fun drink. Our appetizers were delicious and the escargot was ourfavorite. All of our entrees also tasted great and the steaks were cooked to perfection, no matter the cut. We got a bunch offamily sides and we really enjoyed the Brussels sprouts, mushrooms, and Mac and cheese. Everything tasted great and the kidsmeals were a perfect size as well. There was a great dessert selection too and everyone found a sweet treat to enjoy! The 4 layer chocolate cake was amazing especially when paired with the fresh berries and cream and the crème brûlée was alsodelicious. Overall we had an amazing experience at the Briar Rose and would definitely come back to this amazing restaurant! Read more

Unfortunately I didn't like our meal here so much. The atmosphere is okay as the room is fairly small. Depending on where you... sit this can be a problem. We sat closer to the waiter station and it just didn't feel like a fine dining experience. However,if the food was fabulous I wouldn't even have cared. The appetizer was just okay for me, 2 crab cakes about a half dollar sizefor $21. The bread was good but would have been better if served hot. Lastly my new york strip steak was ordered medium andserved to me in a puddle of watery juice. The steak was tough and dry, the extra charge quarter sized truffle butter wasn't evendetectable in flavor. I was very tempted to adk for some A1 sauce it was so dry. All the juice was on the plate not in thesteak. The fries were just okay, very soggy in the box they were served in. If you like crispy fries you won't like these. Read more

Great service, they definitely know their meat, both cuts we ordered were delicious. The family style sides are pretty big, fine... for up to four people. We were pretty much happy with everything, great tastes, place definitely worth visiting. Read more
