Came here after a day of skiing. Definitely hit the spot! We ordered a HUGE portion of macaroni with fried chicken and a large... chicken and waffles sandwich. Service was quick and friendly. Appetizers of fried okra and cheese curds were excellent! The cheese curds were so good I forgot to take a photo until they were... almost all gone. Those who ordered the fried salmon enjoyed it, but I found it to be a bit dry. The flavor was still therethough! It just really needed the sauce. The pulled pork poutine was delicious, but very rich. It would probably be best as ashared dish. I liked the meatloaf itself, but didn?t enjoy the gravy. It didn?t add much to the dish, and I thought it took awayfrom the flavor of the meatloaf itself. Really enjoyed the happy hour deals - discounted drinks and appetizers. I would recommend this place for comfort food but... presentation could be better. The taste is there, just not the appearance. Our server, Nikki, was an angel. She checked with uscontinuously and gave great recommendations. However, some of the other servers/hosts (not Nikki) walking around seemed a littleoff. The best way to describe their behavior was slurred and muffled speech combined with red faces. I kind of shrugged everytime they spoke to me because I couldn't really make out what they had said to me. I'm sure it was nothing mean, but still, notokay to be under the influence on the job. Loved this place! Mom and pop resturant with small town ambiance. Went on a Friday at 3pm, seated immediately. Server was... attentive and very friendly, sat and talked with us for a bit. Ordered a Royal with cheese, Jam burger, and chicken fingers withwhite gravy. Everything was fresh and extremely tasty. My royal was cooked medium, bacon was crispy. Fries are the thin,shoestring type, perfectly salted. Menu was filled with home-cooked goodness. Place wasn't loud at all, even though tables wereall filled when we left. Highly recommend! Read more
