Service was excellent. The food was hot and looked appetizing. The salsas and both plates were really under seasoned and I... wasn?t a fan of the salsa roja. I?ll give it another try, could have been an off day. Read more

Mexican restaurants are largely the same and it is difficult to stand out. Manuel's wasn't spectacular but it was better than... many. The decor is quaint with an "old world" feel; definitely not fancy. The service was friendly but sparse; perhaps alittle under-staffed which is not uncommon lately so we were fine with that. I had the spinach quesadilla and there was a lotof spinach and it was crispy, not soggy. The food seemed freshly prepared and genuinely hot, not from a warmer. I would returnfor an easy comfort-meal. The staff is super attentive they gave us items that we didn't ask for because they noticed our need for them. They were eager... to help and accommodating. The food was tasty and hot. The salsa paired well with everything and was great with chips. I beengoing to this restaurant off and on for about for 20 years it's a must a go restaurant in brenham. Read more

What a little jewel in Brenham! A classic TexMex establishment serving all the old school classics! Their best hidden secret... is their bacon wrapped, jalapeño stuffed shrimp. Served as an entree or can be added a la carte (which is what I love to do)this dish is a MUST TRy for shrimp/bacon lovers - perfect balance of smoky, crunching, hint of spice - delicious! For my entree- I had the La Villa Dinner which is a classic TexMex plate with a taco boat, queso shell, guac, tamale, cheese enchilada, andrice and beans. The beans are absolutely homemade and oh so yummy. The tamale is just the perfect amount of meat tomasa. I?ve also had their flautas before - a solid choice. You won?t be disappointed! Read more

I was passing through the town and just happened to drive by this establishment. I noticed the parking lot was full. As if that... wasn't a good indicator, there were cars parking along the side of the parallel road to come eat here. Which to me meant thefood must be great. My intuition was correct! Despite a very busy lunch hour, I got seated right away, drink and tostadas cameout quickly. The aromas from the kitchen flowed the air making everything look good on the menu. I chose the carnitas plate andit arrived quicker than I anticipated which was good because I had already eaten half of the chip basket ???? Now, I'm fromSouth Texas, meaning I'm very spoiled when it comes to great Mexican food. The carnitas were the best I've ever had. Greatflavor, super tender, and a chingon sized serving. The restaurant is tucked in the city but quite the gem! Very lucky locals!! Read more

Absolutely fantabulous!!! We went based on a friend's dad who's a local and we were not discussing. The Cowboy Enchilada platter... & Spinach Enchiladas were wonderful. Definitely got good leftovers because they give a lot for a little price. Well worth it &we will be back. Read more
