Found this hidden gem today while in Brentwood Bay. Cafe Zanzabar is a very popular eatery with a quaint cottage style... building. Inside the vibe is lively and friendly. I sat outside on the patio, though it is late October. The sun is warm andthe vines cascading over the arbor is attractive and cozy! I ordered the Cinnamon French toast and an Americano coffee. Myserver was delightful and accommodating. The food came out promptly, hot and delicious! I should say, the parking lot was fullwhen I arrived and the non stop arrival of patrons continued the entire stay. The coffee was excellent; allways a testament toa good roast when I can drink it black! I highly suggest, Zanzabar Cafe is a must for locals and tourists alike! Read more

Cute little eclectic cafe in Central Saanich. The food was great. We had the pakoras, Zanzibar salad with prawns and the butter... chicken. The tiramisu was a great finish to the meal. Only giving 4 stars as the plastic patio chairs were not comfortable.Otherwise food and service was great. I would definitely come back again. Read more

Very delicious options available on the menu. The lamb was fantastic. Our server was so friendly. I was expecting portions to... come on a giant plate with swirls of colours and leaves. Happily it did not. Presentation was great and a nice portion. I'll beback! Read more

I honestly wish I could give this place 10 out of 5 stars. Let's start with the service, there were two servers and 1 cook/chef... when we were there. The place was half full with about 15 tables and you wouldn't know it from the servers they were helpful andupbeat. The food is one of the best brunch places I've been to. They have very creative dishes like the blackened salmon andstrawberry salad I had. All our food was mouth-wateringly delicious. The atmosphere, okay it feels like you are eating in themiddle of a botanists private cottage. There are exotic plants and birds everywhere you look. They have a beautiful wrap aroundpatio. Inside we sat below a skylight with exotic flowers obstructing the sunlight making our table shady and giving it aslightly purple tinge. After complimenting the server and the chef we learned that the main chef want even there (he was onvacation) all our delicious food was cooked by the backup chef... Anyways definitely take the time to stop in here and try oneof their amazing dishes and cradle in the atmosphere Read more

Every aspect of our dinner was exceptional from the fresh bread & house made tapenade to the superb desserts, also made in... house. We had the outstanding Mulligatawny soup then I had lamb shank with North African spice & my wife had fresh scalloppappardelle. Although the portions were generous we couldn?t resist sharing an Affogato Kahlua espresso float for dessert. Theservice was quick, courteous, and attentive, and the place was spotlessly clean. Absolutely 5 stars for every course & aspect ofour wonderful experience. Read more
