The person at the front was very nice, we sat down and waited over 10 minutes for someone to come greet us at the table. As soon... as we were looking for another place to eat the server showed up. He really tried to help, but ordered steak and “all out”ordered shrimp salad and “out of shrimp” finally I just settled for a burger and well that was not so great. I find it really disgusting that the manager of this establishment would be drinking during business hours. My friends and I... were enjoying our night and this man after having a beer or two legit ignored people that were drinking and falling overthemselves. He even laughed after someone slipped on the floor that was covered with liquid from someone spilling their drink.You would think that he would clean it up and put up a sign or something but he didn’t. He simply laughed and continued toflirt with girls much younger than himself and then ignore his duties as a person that is supposed to make sure people don’tover drink or cause hazards for someone else. I am floored that a person that walks around in charge would do something likethat. I don’t think I will come back knowing a man like that is in charge. It seems he’s more worried about getting drunkthan making sure the patrons of the establishment are well taken care of. Clear steer until this man no longer is the one incharge of making sure people are well taken care of. He’d probably rather someone spend money and get wasted and leave drunkin their car rather than make sure a person shouldn’t drive and get home safe. I’m disgusted after knowing this guy Bob isin charge. I feel bad naming him, but even a server and bartender off duty said they both felt unsafe with him being the onethat should be the person protecting them. Sweeney's is a great Irish pub! The staff are very friendly and attentive. The food is very good, and there are plenty of... options. There are tons of drink choices and plenty of beers on tap. Definitely would highly recommend. We'll be back for sure. Read more

Place is amazing and truly authentic Irish cuisine made to perfection. The Sheppards pie was very good and tasty. And the open... face Ruben was the best I had around Monmouth and ocean county. I highly recommend coming here you won't be disappointed. Read more

It appears that this is THE Irish pub for/in Ocean County. Friendly and informative wait staff, great selection of beer and... spirits and a great menu based around classic Irish cuisine. The pub has a comfortable warm feel to it and it's certainly getslively during sporting events and most definitely for the Willie Lynch band. Recent decor updates feature flags and scarvesinvolving Liverpool Football Club and Sweeney's hosts matches for fans of the club. Definitely will return. Read more
