This used to be one of the best Chinese restaurants but unfortunately no more. Others must share this opinion as we were in... there for over an hour and only one carryout came in. Used to love the steamed dumplings but they are now a quarter of the sizeand not as good as before. The rice also was hard in spots like it was old. Also, the tea was served in coffee mugs that tastedlike hot water. The interior hasn't been updated in over 20 years and it is showing with the tired looking booths and thewallpaper peeling. So disappointed as we really loved this place and the staff is so nice. Hopefully they will put some moneyinto it and raise the quality of food and bring it back to what it once was. Read more

How this place is 3.9 is mind boggling. We spent 80 bucks and I wouldn’t have given this food to the homeless. How does a... restaurant make food without a taste ? I love me some Egg Drop soup and it was disgusting along with everything else. Thisplace should pay people to eat there. Read more
Okay.. I am impressed. My mom's in town from Alabama where she doesn't get the chance for Chinese food and wanted to find a... place that has pressed duck. I spent my lunch at work on the hunt, with no luck. I called Gourmet Garden to ask if they mighthave their house special duck. They did not.. BUT the woman that took my call was so nice and welcoming we decided to try theplace out! Later we called an order of chicken with garlic sauce, dragon and pheonix and house special lo main... white rice andfried. EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING. We don't live in Brighton, but better believe we can't wait to try more of what the menu has tooffer. And to think a simple phone call with that amazing person brought in our business... and yes she was just as sweet inperson. Thank you Gourmet Garden for the awesome dinner. Service is top notch too! This is the only place around that I've found that has gluten free Chinese chicken options! My favorites are the General Tso and... Orange Chicken. They "bread" it with cornstarch I believe instead of regular bread (I'm celiac, so I did make sure, but I can'tremember if it was just corn starch or also potato or tapioca starch). Either way, delicious, crunchy, and you get a lot offood! Usually always have leftovers and I like my food so I eat a lot lol Read more
The food is good. The price is right. Have been going here for years when visiting. The bathroom needs a thorough CLEANING and ... Renovation.... and the uncomfortable booth chairs are awful to sit in , to the point I could hardly enjoy my meal. Service is ok. Food is not so good. Normally when your starving everything tastes good. . This place, not so good.. Save your... money and go elsewhere . No flavor, cold soup, and oily everything. Read more
