Great food, lovely service. Food tasted great and portions were perfect. The seafood platter was a highlight with generous... amount of fish and shellfish, alongside warm veggies. Great time! Read more

This was a true treat. What a beautiful restaurant. We were greeted by a delightful woman and we chose to eat on the patio. ... We ordered a Caesar which was delicious and started out with octopus. Now I have ordered octopus at many restaurants and thiswas spectacular. It was so tender and absolutely blasting with flavour. There were also some shrimp which again...the tasteand flavour was refreshing and different. Chef Jay is really an amazing chef and in my opinion he is the best in the area. Mywife had the seafood medley with mixed grilled vegetables....again....so much flavour and you enjoyed every bite. The wineLemon sauce was so good and not over lemoned. Simply amazing. I chose the beef stroganoff which did not disappoint and it ischef Jays sauces that truly set his food apart from the others. The pricing was excellent for the experience and qualitydelivered....we will be back! Read more

After a short stay in Brighton at an incredible Airbnb ? we visited The Gables for take out (due to COVID regulations? otherwise... totally would have dined in at this gorgeous home/restaurant) We ordered the crab cakes that came with an amazing little salad+ delicious sauce. They were also very accommodating for creating a vegan Risotto with lots of fresh veggies! We ordered one keylime pie for dessert and we were not disappointed. Super friendly staff and pick up was seamless. Thanks so much! Read more

I informed the server of my allergies before ordering. They brought out the appetizer and entree dishes clearly containing the... ingredients I?m allergic to. She first brought out the appetizer saying she only mentioned the allergy about the entree, not theappetizer, but then brought out the entree with the allergens. After sending the entree back, they sent back the same entreeonly picking a few pieces out, when I clearly mentioned no there should be no contamination. We asked for water 3 times, theserver kept forgetting. The other tables also had complimentary bread and we noticed we did not, and had to request this. Mypartner asked for a steak knife and the server said that the butter knife was in fact a steak knife and denied him of a steakknife, while the other tables had black steak knives beside their butter knives. My partner ate his entire dish while I waitedfor my own, so we essentially ate dinner separately. When my dish came out, it was extremely salty and the broccoli was burntblack. This is the second time we?ve been here and both times the service and food did not meet average restaurantquality. Ambience is good. That?s about all that you pay for. They did not offer anything in return for the horrible dinnerservice, lack of attention, and burnt food. The bill was $210. Never returning or recommending to anyone. Read more

The restaurant was in a beautiful historic mansion and was really nicely decorated outside with lights and flowers. The waitress... was super sweet, though everyone seemed to be quite stressed and maybe understaffed (to be expected). The starter salad was goodand the mushroom risotto was also good, albeit a little salty. My friend enjoyed her dish as well, so can say overall it was anice experience. Read more

We're from Toronto and went on a road trip to Kingston when we decided to drop by a good restaurant. We found this place that... was seemingly high rated. The place was nice, it had a homely vibe being what looks like a renovated house transformed into arestaurant. The menu looked great and the server was kind. We ordered the crab cakes, the escargot and the mushroom Risotto. Thefirst two were decent, but felt lackluster. However the Risotto was way too salty for the both of us and neither of us couldfinish it. To be perfectly honest, it's not worth the price they're dishing out. It could be that the chef accidentally tippedover a salt shaker, but they should have tasted the food before serving it. But that's not the end unfortunately, it took waytoo long to serve this ungodly salty Risotto and to get the bill right after we asked for it. Made a mistake of sitting outsidein the evening and being buffeted by mosquitoes for a couple hours before we were able to pay. If it were the ambience and theatmosphere of the place I'd give it a 5, unfortunately what matters most is the food and it wasn't a good experience. The bestthing there was the complimentary bread they gave at the start. Read more
