The food is better than used to be. The ribs were tender, meat, juicy, and flavorful. The brisket was as well. The Mac and... Cheese and Tangy Coleslaw were really good as well. The cashier/cook asked use to try some upcoming menu items they weretesting. Mention them and you can get them. The white Chicken Chili was out of this world. The Cheesy Potatoes were a nicechange. The cornbread had corn in it...I like it that way. It was a chill atmosphere. They mentioned that they were addingsome other things like Loaded Fries. Just ask what's new or what's coming. Oh man. This review begins and ends with salt. That is the predominant take away from this food. I only tried the brisket and... burnt ends, but sadly pervaded the entire experience. What meat you could taste was well smoked, and would have been good, butthere is no bark or seasoning. Based on how I received the brisket, in a tall plastic cup/bowl and not wrapped in foil/butcherpaper, I assume they smoke the brisket and then let it sit in a shallow pan of it's juice, where the seasoning gets soaked intothe brisket, overpowering any natural flavor, and making the whole cut taste like one thing...salt. Decided to stop here for dinner. If you've read any of my reviews, you know how I am about BBQ! So.... upon entry I noticed the... place was really clean so that's one star. It wasn't busy as I went around 2:30 that afternoon. I could smell the bbq when I gotinside and I was so hoping it tasted as good as it smelled! I did love the old school park bench tables inside, but notconducive for a single person or for a couple. I kept it simple; I ordered the half slab ribs and fries. They came wrapped up infoil to keep the temp and moisture in them. When I opened it up, I was not disappointed! They looked fantastic! I could see thesmoke in the meat and they were really tender! The fries were hot, crispy and very tasty and you get plenty of them! The ribswere pre-cut but we're still connected to show that they were a slab and not pre-cut and cooked pieces of ribs. If you've beento low end BBQ places, you know what I mean. So as far as the meal goes, that's two stars. Drink selection was the norm and youcan get your choice of 4 different BBQ sauces from their dispensary. The individual that took my order was nice and professionaland the price was, so there's three stars. I didn't go to their restroom to see it so that's not going to get a star. Sorry,just didn't go. I came in for lunch and was surprised to see how barren it was. This place used to be packed around lunchtime. It didn't take me... long to figure out why. The cost! My gosh it was $26 for a sandwich and two side with water (free) as my drink! Considering theamount of meat they actually give you, I wouldn't say it's worth the cost. As far as flavor, yes the food was pretty good if youdont mind it on the salty side. They also got rid of the different types of sandwiches they used to have which was a bigdisappointment. Given how expensive everything else is nowadays in President Brandon's economy, I don't think I'll be comingback here. Read more
