Reviews for City Tamale Inc in The Bronx, NY
City Tamale with no Tamales. Went there today to bring home some tamales. Mind you, this is at 1:30 in the afternoon, To my... surprise, they were out of all of them except Chicken( which was fair at best). They also ran out of corn toppings. Is it toomuch to ask a tamale named restaurant to have Tamales in stock?. This is like McDonalds running out of burgers. The nice youngman at the counter was apologetic( hence the one star), said there was some event, which is no excuse, they should be preparedfor that. If you still want to get tamales here, Call beforehand as they always run out( apparently even at lunchtime). Also ,parking is horrible, They should change the name to ? No City Tamales) Read more
*Edited Review* I had placed an order for 24 tamales. When I arrived home I was short 10 tamales. It was Christmas Eve and I was... obviously very upset. I reached out to management and they were truly sorry for the mistake. They even offered to bring metamales the next morning! I will say, it?s one of the best customer service experiences I?ve ever had. Thank you so much CityTamale. Best Tamale in NYC!! Read more

Came without expectations and left with the certainty of knowing that I will be back for more. The food is delicious and fresh... and inexpensive. Had to use their bathroom and it was spotless. I definitely don't mind the trip and the toll from Queens.Thankfully there's plenty of parking space in the area. Read more
Way too busy at 2 pm on a Friday. When I arrived there was no line and only one customer eating. They go too fast. Their main... priority is delivery orders. So they don?t have time to answer too many questions about the menu. There were no more proteintamales. So I ordered a grilled chicken wrap. The chicken was raw in some places because it was not cleaned properly and thewrap was soaking of some type of white sauce. The drippings of the wrap fell on my work pants. I lost my appetite and didn?t eatthe other half of the wrap. I had to throw it away. The tamales ARE good. So if you order them, you will be playing it safe. Itjust goes to show that just because it?s popular at the moment, doesn?t mean it?s always good food and good service. Read more
The tamales here were delissshhhh! The Mole tamale was FULL of meat. They don't skimp you on that. I give it to them. Most... places it's a pinch of meat. Not here! Definitely get your money worth. The bean tamale was ok, just ok. When I went the onlyhad few options. I'm guessing bc it was after lunch time. Idk. But they didnt have what I wanted. The restuarant is sooo tiny.Maybe enough room for 4 people to eat. I couldn't enjoy eating there. It's also around warehouses and truckers everywhere!Parking really sucks. Again trucks everywhere. At first I thought GPS was taking me somewhere else. Lol. But it's there. Read more
A unique place that focus on tamales. They have a variety of flavors to choose from, even vegetarian options. Everyone should be... able to find a flavor they like. I really enjoyed having a tamale witth egg, which is their most popular dish. I washed it downwith a delicious champurado drink. It was the perfect breakfast. Located in the Hunts Point area the restaurant has a verypretty green and yellow theme. The staff was very friendly. We tried several other flavor of tamales, they all tasted great. Irecommend checking this place out. I hope to get back there soon. Like the sign says on the door "Start your day with a tamale". Read more
