We were visiting family and treated to dinner here. The bistro is in a sleepy, not very lively suburb, so expectations were not... high. What a surprise from the super friendly, professional wait staff with just the right amount of attentiveness to a trulyexceptional burger. Why is it that in the land of the burger it's so hard to get a really good one? North Star makes maybe thebest burger I've ever had at a restaurant. The sweet potato fries did taste a little too much like pie being sprinkled withcinnamon sugar, but the salads were fresh and the drinks good. I loved the candlelit atmosphere and tying for best of all werethe hot rolls brought to the table without being requested. A really lovely experience overall. Read more

I have been to North Star American Bistro twice within the last month. Both times Stephanie has been our server. She did an... amazing job both times. She was very attentive and recommend great menu items! The first time we were there is was pretty busybut she still provided excellent service. The lavender martini and french onion soup is amazing! Great place to visit. Visiting from out of state and local friend took us here and it was wonderful. Food is a little expensive... but nothing outrageous, the quality evens it out perfectly. Visited here for the first time with another family. Between the 8 of us, with drinks, it only cost around $20 a person for... AMAZING food! The perch fry was the best around. Delicious Bourbon old fashioned also flavorful. Definitely will come here againduring summer on the wonderful patio. Read more
