Always fun! Always delicious! We love eating at Portillo?s! We went to celebrate my wife?s birthday?. we got there early and... pulled some tables together and made room for 13 people. The Walmart of hot dog restaurants. Seen a bunch of people post about Portillo?s online. Saying how great it is. The staff acted... like they hated their job. The place was dirty. The food was bland. Ordered the large dogs. Makes me wonder how small theregulars are. Tastes like Bar-S hot dogs. The chili cheese dog was messy. Not in the good way. The food is fresh and delicious. Burger has that flame charred taste. Onion rings are battered up well and fried golden brown.... The famous cake shake is DENSE! it's like a meal itself. Service is speedy and organized. Lunch rush has lines out into theside roads. They have staff outside taking orders. My order was 10 min late. Just make sure to order ahead and account for somewait time since they get suuuuuper busy. Not their fault. Read more
Very good Chicago dogs served here. I look forward to these every time I come to town. Classic Chicago dog is my go to and the... fries are good too. They have a good system to get the food out fast and the restaurant is always clean. I revisited and wassurprised when I finally got my hotdog unwrapped. The pickle was changed and it was horribly soggy. I ordered three and only atehalf of one. Obviously, a supply issue forced them to use different pickles and it doesn?t taste the same . I'll admit, I didn't understand the hype when I first tried Portillo's the other day. I went back for round two, with some food... modification suggestions from friends and I am a FAN. Getting the Italian beef dipped, with cheese and peppers was key. Hot dogwas ordered loaded and I'm now in love with the cake shake and will likely gain 5lbs. just thinking about it. Awesome lunch! A good representation of the Chicago icon. We enjoyed an Italian beef, Chicago dogs and a chocolate cake shake! Also the fries... are pretty decent. One downside, an employee left the bathroom without walking his hands?thankfully he wasn?t anywhere close toour food. But it does make you wonder whether they take food safety seriously. Read more
Went to Portillo?s based on a recommendation. It was good! The staff was friendly and helpful. The cashier was in training which... was fine. I ordered the sausage and Italian beef with peppers bowl with a Ceasars salad. It was really good. They also gave me ahalf roll with butter. We were sitting in the back room that closes at 9:00pm. The worker was definitely letting us know withoutsaying ?you need to leave?. He was wiping all the tables around us and stacking the chairs on the tables. He was sweet; however,it would have been nice if the worker communicated the closing to us. However, I would definitely return as the food is alwaysgood. Read more
