When you walk in it will take your eyes a few minutes to adjust to to the dim lighting. Kind of felt like a speakeasy. Lots of... fun touches in the decor like suitcases as bar shelves and old alcohol bottles as candle holders. Pool table, shuffleboard and abig table for card games. Live music on certain nights. The first time I went to Oxenfr? it was great! This time it was well. It wasn?t bad but it didn?t live up to the memories. I... could tell they were short staffed. The dishwasher called in sick and it was only 3 of them working. So I can tell they werestretched thin-Skeleton crew. But next time, just let customers know, hey we?re short staffed so please be patient with us. Wewill understand but when you don?t explain the situation or let us know; we become crabby. Overall still love the place. Just abit cold inside for the winter and the price hike made sense but you definitely pay for the quality. Remember that people. Theysource locally which kudos to them. But yes, just those couple of things. That?s why I couldn?t give 5 stars. The tacos weren?tmy favorite but I?d come back for the bbq sliders and BLAT during happy hour. Great customer service, great food selection. Great drink selection. Price was par for quality. Only con was that it smelled... like it used to be a smoking establishment when I walked in and I got a whiff of that every few minutes which wasn?t satisfyingto me. I give them 4.5 stars. Read more
Update 2021: Even with all of the pandemic chaos, Ox continues to be excellent! Consistent wonderful food choices! Great bar and... friendly staff. Cozy modern atmosphere with a variety of local inspired cocktails and drinks. Small triangle shaped patio almost boasts a view... of the ocean. Menu had wholesome hearty food varietals for a price. Vegetarian option was delicious although a bit on the oilyside. Read more

The bartender couldn?t have been more rude. It was like we were bothering him by just walking in. Asked for a menu and he... pointed at a stack across the room for us to get up and get ourselves. So we walked out. Hate leaving this review because thisplace (when it was a restaurant) was my favorite place on the coast! Read more
