Reviews for La Morra in Brookline, MA

I never write reviews but I felt compelled as we got very ripped off by this restaurant. Ordered the three courses with wine... pairing. For two people this came to $180 (tip included). However the food was horrendous. Butter for the bread was like cottagecheese. No flavor. Salad was dry and not washed/yellow leaves. “Stuffed olives” were just martini olives deep fried. We weretold that the olives were stuffed with sun dried tomato but it was just martini olives from a jar stuffed with pimento. Eggplantwas not cooked properly and had melted pizza cheese (not fresh mozzarella as advertised) on top, and lemon zest pasta wasspaghetti in lemon juice/ just acidic flavor. We made it through apps and a few bites of the entree before we left. We paid anddidn’t even bother to stay for the desert. Service was nice but you can get the same food at Olive Garden for a third of theprice. Read more

I recently came here apart of Dine Out Boston as it was one of the more highly reviewed locations to eat. The location is a... little awkward as it on Route 9 making it harder than usual to find parking when it’s peak time. You can find parking on Route9 (if you are lucky) or the adjacent street (Walnut St) which I was fortunate to find parking on. Inside the restaurant, it isbeautiful and gives that home like feeling. The host was very kind as my party was running a little bit late due to heavyunexpected traffic. Our server was also phenomenal and really adjusted to the atmosphere that my party was giving. The food wasgreat but nothing extraordinary. The restaurant is Italian and well, features Italian dishes. We ordered a wide variety ofdishes ranging from the bluefish to the bolognese. Like I mentioned, they were great but anything to rave about. If you arelooking for a solid restaurant, knowing that you are going to get great food and service then visit. If you are looking for anover the top, luxury food and service then I would opt into a different restaurant. This restaurant is exceptional in what theydo and deliver. Read more

Located in a very strange part of town, but took a chance trying this spot on the recommendation of a local — we were highly... impressed with the food and the fantastic service. The lemon spaghetti, spinach lasagna, and cocktails were all amazing. LaMorra is a great, authentic hole-in-the-wall spot whose food rivals even the more touristy spots in Boston’s North End. This place is the perfect date night spot. It is in a strange part of town, and I do NOT recommends stoping at any of the... service stations in the area. It is quaint, candle-lit, and has very high quality food. We had the meatballs as an appetizer, fig infused bourbon drink, local beer, lemon spaghetti, and the spinach lasagna and were blown away with all of them. Theservice was prompt and efficient. This place really is a hidden gem! Highly recommend, truly! Read more

Very unique northern Italian food. Menu is updated seasonally but they keep the classics (like the of course fantastic... bolognese). Also love the cicchettis (small plates) to start. Very romantic and ambient environment with friendly staff. Read more

We loved the grilled hen here, very juicy inside with crispy skin outside. The bread topped with pesto and local tomatoes are... quite tasty but it would be perfect if the basil is a stronger and sweeter variety. Only a bit of disappointing at the dessert, the cake is a bit dry and the syrup was too sweet for me. Read more
