Staff was polite, but I couldn't finish my meal. General Tzao Tofu: Tofu was cut too large. Under-battered. Under-done. Sauce... wasn't thick enough. Something about the texture and flavor made me feel weird and I had to throw it out. Chicken fried rice:tasted like there was no sauce, literally just rice and chicken fried together. Not even the tiny chunks of carrot, onion, andpeas I expect in a plain friend rice. Bland and boring, I couldn't bring myself to finish it. Egg drop soup: not enough eggfirst of all, the soup had none of the texture from the whites I expect from an egg drop soup. After adding some of my ownspices it tasted alright so I actually finished that. I worked in kosher Chinese takeout for a few years, and I know that itcan be so much better. A disappointing experience. Read more

We had a great experience here. 7 of us walked in for late dinner around 8:40. They did notify us that they close at 9:15, but... gladly let us in. Nice pleasant decor inside, great food as well! We ordered General Tso's Chicken (I asked for one regular andone not spicy at all for the kids, and both were exactly as we requested) and Mongolian Beef, as well as 2 soups (kids likedboth) and a ton of vegetable egg rolls (which were also liked by everyone). They brought in the Mongolian Beef sizzling on thefrying pan, an awesome way to serve it, and the kids liked it a lot. They did ask to please bring in everything at the sametime to speed us up, and it was very reasonable given they let us sit down so close to closing time. In addition, their entriesdid not come with rice, which I already knew by reading other reviews before visiting. We ordered a plate of regular fried riceand another with vegetable fried rice, both were great. It was exactly enough food for all 7 of us, and a fantastic experience. One of the kids said this was the tastiest Chinese she ever had, and I tend to agree. Very pleasant experience, I wish we had aChinese like that in our town! Thank you so much! Read more

Pro: Food was good, portion size was on the large side, menu had a lot of options including vegetarian. Con: Dining room... needs to be cleaned, there is a layer of oil on everything. One woman in a snood (owner?) sat at a table cutting paper while theother one in a snood stood in the same spot next to a "bar" the entire time and yelled at people. For some bizarre reason, riceis NOT included with entrees, and it does not say so on the menu-- huh? Properly clean the place, include rice with entrees, and get some more presentable staff and it will be 4/5 stars. Food tasted good tho, after I had to ask for rice. Read more

I ordered take out from there tonight and was sorely disappointed. I hadn’t been there in quite a while (since the management... change). Maybe the chef changed too! The chicken with cashews contained fatty chicken that tasted like it was barely cooked, notlike the crispy, flavorful chicken that used to be in it. The beef with broccoli had no flavor and didn’t have any garlicsauce on it. The vegetable medley was full of corn starch and American celery. Other than that there was no taste! The scallionpancake appetizer was burnt. Definitely this restaurant has gone downhill and this was close to the worst Chinese food I haveever had! I am sorry to report this because my family used to love the restaurant. Read more

If you have ever had non-Kosher Chinese food, don't eat here. First of all, the "chow mein," a noodle dish roughly translating... to "stir-fried noodles," does not include noodles. Instead, it's their vegetable compost stewed in water. For $12. The sweet andsour chicken was even worse. Have you ever had rotten chicken? Eat here if you're curious. Finally, we got a chicken broccolidish that was expertly crafted with dirty water, celery, and dry chicken (?). The Kosher Wok has an interesting way of takingcare of your need for food - by completely destroying your appetite. Do yourself a favor (if your dietary restrictions allow)and head down the street to Allston for some actual chinese cuisine Read more
