If you wanna try some Taiwanese local food, this restaurant is definitely among the top choices in my opinion. I specifically... recommend crispy chicken because it’s an interesting comparison between that and other American fried chicken. There won’tbe any risk by ordering it cause everyone loves fried chicken already. And of course, I didn’t try everything, but food likebeef noodles, roasted beef and stuffed bitter melon were all very authentic to me. More importantly, A-Pou treats every customerlike her own family members, very hospitable and friendly. Really recommend it! Read more

PHENOMENAL legit authentic home-cooked quality food. My family is from Taiwan + southern china and the taste reminds me of food... I grew up with. Try the braised pork for $7.50 - super tender and flavorful. All drinks are made in-house (milk coffee, curedlemonade, taro, passion fruit) and are $1…! What! Doris was also super sweet and conversational - just like a real A-Pou! Inever thought I would find this quality of food in Brooklyn — after living nearby for 4 years now, I know to skip the trekinto Manhattan- and go here instead. Bringing all my friends!! Read more

Best dumplings in the hood. Best food of this type in the hood. Thin, not doughy dumplings that are so fresh. Beef and... broccoli was lean and absolutely delicious! Sesame tofu over rice was so tender and proper. Great tofu is difficult toget! The wonton noodle soup is out of this world and doesn’t taste like the frozen-y soup wontons I’ve had elsewhere. Themeat is perfect and so is the dough. If you’re wondering which place to toss the dice at for good food, you want this one. Can’t believe it’s taken me so long. I will thusly call this my ‘go-to place’ and be telling everyone to try it at leastonce. Also, the people are quite sweet in there. Kudos to the staff! Read more

Authentic Taiwanese food at SUPER affordable prices! I just moved to NYC from Taiwan, and this has got to be my favorite... Taiwanese spot so far. I bought 2 bentos for $7/each as part of the lunch special. One was the braised pork belly (pictured)and the other was the stir-fried eggplant. A lot of places just dunk the pork in soy sauce, but at A-Pou, you can taste thedepth of herbal flavors. Each bento also came with a side of bok choy, keeping it healthy and balanced. Service was quick andfriendly too. The store owner was trilingual, serving customers in Chinese, English, and Spanish. So happy I found this localspot! Will definitely become a regular here :) Read more

Garlic Eggplant over rice is great! The beef noodle soup is also not bad, just the beef is a bit hard to chow. The basil... chicken over rice is good, a bit oily. The crispy popcorn chicken is too dry. The price is very affordable. All items are under$10. Read more
