Ordered a large margherita pie and it WAS THE WORST PIE EVER. Whole pizza was covered in cheese and there was no sauce or basil... leaves. We asked them about that and they said they ran out of basil. The worker gave me a clueless look when I said I wouldhave went somewhere else if I knew they had no basil or sauce left. WASTE OF MONEY. SOLID slice, 4 out 5. It?s well balanced from tip to crust and nothing about it is wrong. With that said, for me, it does fall... slightly short of just the extra special something. However, there?s enough here to make go in intending to only eat one slicebut then immediately returning for a second. This pizzeria deserves its popularity. I saw a guy eating a slice while sitting inwhat had to be a 70s Lincoln Town Car, so they have a loyal following. I ordered a regular plain slice first, enjoyed itthoroughly, and then returned to try ?a square.? The square definitely has a better more buttery crust. I like that the pricingis fair ($3) and they don?t charge extra for squares. I might not travel from Staten Island just to get their pizza, but I woulddefinitely return if in the Brooklyn area.
