First of all they don't answer their listed phone number. I was passing through the area of Eastern Parkway and decided to stop... and buy something from this restaurant. Customer service was wack- Cashier barely look up from the 5 year old puzzle that wasswallowling up all her attention while she take my order. I bought their small curry goat and jerk chicken. I got overnightcurried goat , yes overnight food!!! They didnt even warmed up the food properly. They plastered all OVERNIGHT GOAT that wasleft in the container all over the white rice and I specifically said NO Gravy!!!!... The jerked chicken that sits at the glasswindow and hover over the unlit grill was deeply chard, tasteless, even though she dashed the barbecue sauce all over the driedout chicken, which is the smallest of potion of Jerk chicken I have ever seen served in NY. Since I was not able to return tothe restaurant immediately, I tried calling them several times and no answer! I'm not a big Jamaican food person but that's mostly what is served in this area. There are lots of Jamaican food spots on Utica... but this one is by far the best. The flavors are poppin. I always get the Jerk chicken with rice and peas and J is usually onthe grill. The Jerk chicken does not disappoint and the rice and peas is soft enough. The curry gravy is tasty as well. Oh my ! oh my chicken was so dry I couldn't chewed it. And I like well done meat but impossible to eat. I guess I came at the... wrong time. I thought that was their specialty. I would had wait for fresh one. It taste well seasoned but not well kept orwarmed up but $15 hurts that I couldn't eat it. A sad day. I was looking forward to it. I have mostly had very good service here. But lastnight when I came in and there was a new lazy looking girl leaning on her... elbow on the counter as a CASHIER her body & face turned to the side. She was Actually speaking turned away from the window, not looking at the customers. I found her to have very little customer service skills and quite Rude. The young man that wasthere before, gave excellent service and my order has never been wrong I ordered Escovitch Fish, I directly asked for JerkSauce and Bbq sauce and Hardo bread. This woman did not give me anything but the fish and the onions. I took special time outto go there and when I get all the way home an hour later. NO JERK SAUCE NO BBQ SAUCE NO HARDDO BREAD. I WAS SO IRRITATED. Itasted my food and pushed it away, I didn't eat it. It was a WASTE OF MONEY TIME AND ENERGY FOR MY FAVORITE LITTLE TREAT. Iwas so TURNED OFF.. DISTURBED. This place had ALWAYS ALWAYS HAD GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Sorry but if that sloppy young lady isgoing to be our server. She is going to send lots of paying customers home unsatisfied.
