I love this place, the patties (jerk chicken and spicy beef my fav). I walk past it to get home and 5/10 times can't resist and... have to go in and get me something. I usually see the same lady and few other employees in there which is nice. Oxtails aredelicious but you should know that the food can depend on when you go in because it is semi-buffet style, so sometimes you getthe last helpings. For example I went to get ackee and saltfish one morning at 11 am and it was so dry. I was just glad therewas any left going that late. Read more

So this review is after trying this place multiple times. We like Jamaican food, but this place is so inconsistent. One day... the soup is hot and fresh, the next day it was literally served cold. Second time we went to try another dish, the rice was notfully cooked. How do you allow the rice to come out like that? Anyone checking? Where is the quality control. Oxtail saucecould be more flavorful. Overall very average. Stick to a quick patty if you're hungry. The platters can be disappointed. Especially when you order, leave, then take it to your car and find out food is cold or not cooked. Read more

The oxtail is perfection and the portions are generous. I've ordered large catered portions for special occasions and holidays... and its always ready on time and made fresh. The staff that is there has been there a while and seem to be invested which makesme trust and admire the establishment more. The restaurant is always CLEAN. Whenever I go out of town, this is the first stopwhen I get back. Read more

The beef patty was almost all crust. What was inside was a paste made from "beef". To top it off, it was expensive. $6 for two... "beef" patties. This is supposed to be a carribean restaurant, but they have gone American. Fried chicken, mac&cheese and redvelvet cake/cornbread theses are southern American foods. Read more

Very hit or miss at this location. The owner is very pleasant. But he need to put some of the servers in check. Too much... attitude. The rice is HARD af and has no flavor. Don't even think about getting the oxtail unless you want HARD meet. Todayjust put the cherry on the cake. Got a red peas soup which was literally brown water when I opened it. Clearly that soup wasNOT ready to be sold as it is still cooking. The fact that he went yo the back to get it was a dead give away. Then when Itook it back for a refund, I was told by one of the incompetent servers I cannot get a refund. So my question was if he gotfood from a restaurant with hair in it he should just take it as a lost or go get a refund? Well called the owner and the factthat he wanted to defend that soup as if it was ok to be sold told me they have no clue how CS works. I will NEVER eat hereagain. Read more

Almost everything about this restaurant is amazing. Great food, especially the escovitch fish, macaroni and cheese and soups.... Workers are friendly, they have lots of food selections. Its clean and comfortable. AWESOME breakfast menu. Wait time issometimes long due to crowding. It is one of the best NYC Golden Krust restaurants. Read more

Meat patties are good. Could use more filling and less pastry crust. Had some on Sat and they were very crunchy. Have tried the... dinners before the cabbage and curry chicken was good. This place is very busy. Servers could be quicker. Read more
