The only spot downtown brooklyn that you can get carribbean food. The food is okay. I enjoy their whiting fish with oxtail... gravy. customer service is kinda blah. Ehh, the customer service is not proficient... Customer service is the face of the business and if that's not good, I don't want... to revisit. I came in and didn't get any greeting or "thank you" from the cashier after purchasing my order. I articulated myorder and she didn't even respond and say "yes" or anything. Please greet and thank your customers for their business, because Icould've taken my business elsewhere. Also, the location is really outdated and needs a renovation. The beef patty was greatthough! I had the curry goat & it was ok, not very flavorful. The rice & peas was just that, white rice w/peas, not authentic at all.... Overall, the meal was average & a bit pricey at ($15). It was something different to try, but definitely not on the top of myreturn to list. Read more
Food was really good. What bothered me is for 14 bucks I only got 4 pieces of oxtails. That?s ridiculous. On top of that... immediately after eating my food I got food poisoning. The reason for the 3 star rating is because the flavors were on point, Ican?t speak so much for the hygienic part. Restaurant defiantly needs to remodel. I love the place, the food is awesome. I've been a long time customer for over 10 years and no matter how far, because it's a... trek to and from work , I go there to Order my food. Yes the lines are long during lunch and maybe breakfast, but it says a lotabout the restaurant and it's food. Miss Gwendolyn is always so pleasant. She always has a smile and when she speaks of theBible I love it. It's probably the only Christianity I'll get for a while. I always feel at home and that is the only place Ieat my Caribbean food at.. I just don't trust other places . They deserve more than 5 stars. Read more
Everyone in there including the manager is really nice. The food is decent but there's this older short lady who made me stop... going there after giving me a verbal beating because i ordered soup. Apparently the chef who make the soup had passed away butsome how i was suppose to know that. She even went as far as to say to me... The chef is dead you're alive and you're worryingabout soup? All i said to her do you have soup. She said not today i asked will you have any tomorrow since i work in theneighborhood she went off on me and called me selfish. Read more
It was my first time, and it went horrible. The Cashier "Shelly" has NO patience, NOR knows hospitality! I was asking questions... and she wasn't willing to help me understand what I'm ordering. Not everyone is raised to not care about others. If she doeswant her job she should at least at like it. At least pretend that your happy, you should be willing to sell meals to a firsttime customer, ready to explain how everything is served. She was just rushing me to order knowing it's my first time, and therewas only 2 people in line. She had the nerve to call me out of my name and throw words at me WHILE ON THE CLOCK in front ofeveryone at the shop, because I was upset and asked to speak to her manager. The manager I spoke to there was wonderful! Waswilling to listen to me and help me out. Nobody should behave that way, you work at a restaurant, learn to have some patienceand understanding, if Shelly is an adult, she should act that way. She knows that she would not have liked to be treated thatway if it was her first time in an unfamiliar restaurant. The 2 stars are for the lovely Manager I spoke to. I visted Sept 3rdaround 11am because they didn't seem busy, but usually are with long lines. A horrible mistake I won't make again. Read more
It's always a pleasure to have my oxtails here. I live in the Bronx & attended church in this area, so I love to have my oxtails... & white rice of boiling dumplings if it's not finished. Boiled dumplings should be served throughout the day, not only forbreakfast????????????????????? Read more
